I don't buy this, at least not that it's something worth worrying about. If he was injured in the playoffs, and it would have required all-summer rehabbing, the Rangers would not have allowed him to partake in the World Championships just weeks later. By the way, nowhere in there does it mention that the Malkin incident is the cause, does it? If anything the article is over exaggerating some recurring knee problems that he's had since 2004, and he's performed just fine since then..
DruMez- You are actually correct. Not directly atleast. They are talking about him having overextended ACL's, said that he had problems with them the entire season and that it got worse in the PO's.
But at the time, and in the WCH's, it was reported that it did get worse from the Malkin crash.
Ah, I thought this was going to be a thread exposing that he was addicted to painkillers or something.
So did I.
Well it doesn't seem like this is anything to worry about NOW, down the road maybe, i've never heard of over extended ACL's. I'm sure the Ranger Medical & training staff are all over this.

Lost in translation? I would call it strained ACL's.
You would think that the medical trainers are handling this, and that if something was seriously wrong, it would have been addressed at the end of the PO's.
Being a rickety old man who sits on his *** all day at work, my knees hurt just watching goalies drop into that butterfly... I'm sure it's just some soreness that's lingering on him and nothin' to worry much about as you've all mentioned.
BTW, if Lundqvist is on painkillers -- why would anyone assume, first hand, that its a addiction and not just ordinary pain that hockeyplayers gets every now and then?

Because of the thread title, "Lundqvist on painkillers", as though you're stressing the part of the article where he's taking painkillers rather than stressing what really matters, the "injury".

Might this be something of an explanation for his lackluster performance in the midseason, and his so-so play in the POs?

I still think hes on somthing, that mans eyes, his pupils are so BIG during and after games. The only time I ever see pupils that BIG is when I'm on somthing.
