Waiting for Ike to Destroy me

Yes, it is true. I live in the ***hole of America, also known as Houston, Texas. California is where I was born though, so I much prefer to tell people that is where I am from. Anyways, my house is all hurricane proofed right now, and I am just sitting at my computer right now looking at Canadiens stats and watching highlight goals to pass the time before my internet dies. Is anybody else in a similar situation right now? It's only a matter of time before the terrible weather sets in..

Sorry to hear, I have some distant family around Houston, never been and don't plan on it any time soon. I used to live just outside of Ocean City Maryland, had a few minor hurricanes come through but nothing major.

If you want to see some clips of our prospects, I haven't updated it in a while though,

Good luck with Ike

Well, at least you have your priorities straight.
Habs before a hurricane comes to tear up your area.

Good luck buddy.

Shelter for your car, boarding windows and moving things away from them, bringing in patio furniture, supplies like a generator, food, tape, rope.

Non-perishables in a handy location, but won't get destroyed by the winds, a safe place to go (basment, cellar, also where the perishables could be)

Possibly stronger building.

Anyways, bonne chance. I'm glad I've never had to experience a hurricane before.

Right now I'm living in San Marcos, TX...more central Texas but we'll get some of the hurricane as well. My parents are living around Houston, but they've come down here for the weekend, just in case. Good luck with the storm, hope it's not nearly as bad as predicted.

I'd be more worried about having the boats filled up with gas rather then the cars (if you have a boat) , cars don't function very well underwater

New Jersey is a great state. Have you ever been there? It's not as bad as people make it out to be. Sure, it's not exciting, but there are far worse places in America to live in that's for sure.

And good luck to you, goalie man. Looks like it's going to be one hell of a ride from looking at the most recent weather reports. Hang tight!
