certainly more than the likes of soccer and american football, but cricket is far and away the most important captaincy in the world.

The captain helps pick the team, sets the fielding positions, chooses the bowling attack. He pretty much does everything. Michael Vaughan kept his position in the England side for an extra 12 months just because of how good a captain he was.

Well, soccer does. You wear an armband with a big C on it. Everyone knows the captain.

I would have no problem with three 'A' until Richie is ready to take over full time.

The more I think about it, I wouldnt mind Timmonen. Him or Richards. They are both good choices. Timmonen is the veteran leader in my eyes and Richards is the on ice leader

Three As is a huge slap in the face to Timonen. They have to give it to someone.

Jim dowd would probably make one hell of a captain to be honest. The guy is 40. Has to work twice as hard as every other player in the team just to get a job, isn't a superstar, does the hard nosed work and plays his heart out every game. not to mention he has more experience than any other player on the team. Ffs he is older than our coach
