Sweet Caroline

Just heard it on the radio and I was wondering...

Do you think they'll still be playing it at the Garden when the Rangers win?

I think with all the new players they should get rid of it. After all, it was Jagr's favorite song and the RedSox's originally.

It started getting annoying too, because they would play it even though the game wasn't finished yet.

I thought it was Renney's favorite song, not Jagrs?

I have no attachment to the song, since as you said it's a Sox thing. Still, I have a feeling it will still be played.

I'm guessing it will still be around. I never associated it with Jagr, or any particular players, so I don't see why you need to change the song because there are new guys on the team.

Keep it. Different teams in different sports have been using it for years but for me it will always remind me of post lockout hockey and the Rangers return to respectability.

that song reminds me of the Sox so I hope they get rid of it.

get rid of it. It was enjoyable for the first season or two, but I'm sure the Rangers and MSG can think of something a bit more original (in addition to our awesome victory song).

what radio channel do you listen to? I don't think I've heard Neil Diamond on the radio since the 70s when I would occasionally listen to 770 with Dan Ingram.

anyways...it's an interesting considering it was Jagr's song and the team has moved away from Jagr. I'm not sure about Drury's or Gomez's taste in music - hopefully the new leaders can lead this team to a new victory song.

I'm kind of indifferent to Sweet Caroline. We already had a victory song, and I'm big on tradition. I'm actually more interested in whether or not they will continue doing the center ice salute after home wins under whoever the new captain is. Drury, I assume.

i really don't like it because i feel like someone else (the red sux) already had it. i'd prefer something more original, or more NY...

and ace of spades would rock, though

I don't care if they keep sweet caroline or lose it, they GOTTA keep the center ice salute. I absolutely love it and think it's a classy move that represents the organization well. I was hoping to see it in nhl 09 this year, but it's not in the game.

Lets look at the long line of tough songs the Rangers have had:

Nothings gonna stop us now - Starship

Matter of Trust - William Joel

Simply the Best - Tina Turner

Sweet Caroline - Neil Leslie Diamond

Tough.

That song Believe that they used in the playoff commercials got to my head.

IMO, they should play Don't Stop Believing if we get embarrassed on home ice
