Unless something's wrong with him we don't know about, he'll be taken long before it's our chance. LA for instance.

We signed Brisebois to be our 7, no more moves from the habs imo.

Oh man.

You can bet your butts we wouldn't be the only team trying to get him though.

What are the rules when more than one team try to pick up a player on waivers in the off season? Last year's standings? (worst team gets higher chance?)

Also, Jaydee is right.

Even if we did have the cap space, we're probably so low on waiver priority that some team would pick him up long before he fell to us.

It would be nice to pick up Schneider. Don't waive Dandy or anyone just yet, though. Put in a claim and wait first, because somebody higher in the waiver wire will probably take him.

Nothing against Mathieu, but why would anyone think that the Habs are interested in Schneider? They obviously could have picked him up for futures last week. Gainey felt that a right handed centre was a more pressing need than another puck moving defenceman.

There is a set order, first one that want him gets him.

Whomever picks him up now will be able to get a decent return at the deadline.

+1.

But I'd still put in a claim.

Schneider or not,Dandenault can be waived anytime and hopefully ASAP and no one would care

Peronnaly i don't think that neither Bouillon, Dand'neault or Bégin could interest any team in the NHL, including L.A. and Atlanta or even the Islanders. They will stay in Montreal till their contracts expire (next year) unless we shop them with a prospect.

I agree.. but not every HF user agrees.

Some want him as the 14th forward to let him honour his contract, blah blah blah. They'd rather have Chipper play in the minors.

I find it hard to believe that schneider couldn't even deliver some sort of return... unless the ducks want absolutely no salary coming back.... but even then, burke could have taken a flyer on some prospect. Surely, you could get SOMETHING for him.

I dont get it

edit: I didnt realize he was making andrei markov type money... it makes a little more sense now

I think Bouillon could be moved.. his contract isn't THAT unreasonable.. for a guy who can play as a #4 on most teams.
