I can't tell if Cuthbert is a good play by play guy, because I find his voice too distracting... nails-on-a-chalkboard distracting.

Bob Cole has a great hockey voice, but yeah, it's time.

I'll miss Bob to be honest. In his prime, he was one of the best in all of sports, but it is time for him to retire. Jim Hughson always make me feel like I'm playing a video game, but he does know the game very well.

I like Jim as a broadcaster. Bob Cole was just making too many mistakes. He was a good play by play guy but he should have been removed a ouple years ago.

People really care that much?

Wow.

I just don't want some extremely biased dolt like NESN and Fox Detroit usually provides. At least we don't have to deal with, "HOLY MACKANOLE, THE HABS SCORE!". I think I would boycott CBC if that occurred. Cole and Hughson are fine at their jobs. I like Jim better but Bob still has a place.

Absolutely. He deserves a tremendous amount of respect, not the bashing that some are doing.

At his peak, there was none better.

Personally I always thought he has a great broadcasting voice; very dramatic and mildly comforting. Cheers and best wishes to the old guy, I say.

Cole was good in his day. Back when CBC actually cared about the Habs he helped make games very exciting. He has gone downhill the last 5-10 years and prolly should have retired by now, but still it is close to the end of an era.

I really like Hughson, smart, mildy exciting and doesn't hate the Habs.

the 5th goal was scored by GEEO Sakic, I dont understand why he says his name like that.

Ill say, he called the game very well.

Same here.

During their prime, despite their obvious affinity to Toronto, there was no duo better than Bob Cole and Harry Neale.

I'll miss Bob on Saturdays...

Can't stand Hughson's voice. Craig Simpson is an insightful analyst but neither of these guys have the weight of a Bob Cole (yes, even with his recent troubles) if you ask me...

It was great when it was the Olympics and Cole would call the Team Canada net the Leaf net. Nice.

Should've given him the boot 4-5 years ago.

Hughson is irritating at best. Too much "Grrrrrrrrreat save Luongo." garbage. time to change the phrases.

Cuthbert is the man.
