Rangers need ice girls - seriously.

Why don't we have ice girls? What's better then hockey, beer and hot girls wearing near nothing dancing? Not much thats for sure. It is the one thing the islanders have on us. Why not do dance routines on the ice during intermission.

Now before you say no... Let me try and change your mind.

crap. I had a few photos uploaded and lost all of em. If you guys search google for ice girls you will find a bunch that could change your mind.

8/03/2010 - BUMP! The real off-season issue!

Ice girls to me just screams of a way of making a boring product exciting. I have no problem with cheerleaders, but it seems so out of place at hockey games. I could never immagine cheerleaders at baseball games either.

I think they did for awhile, then got rid of them. Then were hit with a lawsuit over sexual harassment.

More trouble than they're worth, I tell you! Then you have the players sleeping with them and causing problems, etc...

No, it's a Long Island and southern expansion team gimmick to get ***** in the seats.

I agree that it's a huge gimmick and this team should take no part in it

If you want to see hot chicks just walk around Manhattan... or like someone else said... go to hooters or a strip club

One of those young skaters, who did grab a spot on the 2007-08 team was Valerie from Floral Park, who used to skate for the Rangers ice girl squad, when it was in existence a few years ago.

Hopefully the Rangers playoff chances last a little longer than the decency of this thread...

Edit: Post I was referring to seems to have been moved.

A couple of things:

1) We don't need ice girls because we are an Original Six Franchise.
2) We don't need ice girls because we don't live below the Mason-Dixon line (Or in Hicksville, Long Island - if ya catch my drift).
3) Excessive emoticons don't help your arguement.

After all the sexual harassment cases in the Garden, one including a former Rangers ice-girl, its a long shot we'll see anything of the sort for quite some time.

And thats the way it should be.

To me, it's unclassy, used as a gimmick and has absolutely NOTHING to do with hockey.

Plus, if they are sweeping the ice, they distract Henrik and we don't need that.

Don't they have those two guys, and a kid who's a contest winner who goes with them. Well a few years ago I was one of those kid's, and it was probably the best day of my life. I went in early because they had to make sure I could skate, and when I went off know who went on for warmups to see if he would play that day? Jagr. And on the ice, I said hi and he said "Hey."

Well the management would tell them to stay away from Henrik, or else he will slash at there shins.

But seriously I love attractive ladies but it is just a gimmick.

No need for ice girls at the Garden.

How about a statement of modern and metropolitan life by having a 50/50 mix of ice girls and ice hunks

It's a professional entertainment business venture after all, maximise the market appeal for maximum profit.

Just so OP doesn't feel bad... I am 100% on board. It's obvious that most of the posters here aren't entirely interested in seeing attractive scantily clad woman during intermission. Hollweg dancing in his jock? Oh yeah!!! Give em some of that sweet sauce!

Youre not maximizing anything when 80% of the audience is male.

I don't know about you but I see plenty of eye candy in the stands, in fact, I scored more than the Flyers did one night last November

Isn't it great that it's trendy to go to Ranger games again!

I've heard that there are males that enjoy male beauty too

Even if I have to admit that I doubt that it's very large community among hockey fans (but they've surprised me before).
