Tent has been pitched. Can't wait.

EDIT: Oh, and for the record, pretty sure it was Boone and not Stubbs who commented on that.

It's actually supposed to be a comb-over.

Laraque weighs 255. He said he ballooned to 275 in Phoenix, during the 2006-'07 season, because "we were out of the playoffs by Christmas and nobody cared." Then he got traded to Pittsburgh and had to get in shape.
A bit too much honesty there, Georges.

Actually, it's really funny to hear stories about how out of shape some players can actually get, and still stay somewhat competitive. I'll never understand how an organization can invest all this time scouting and drafting a player, have him constantly show up to camp flabby and with little muscle mass, and not have their coaching staff tear him a new one(Wellwood anyone?).

One of the few times I've actually heard a team suspend someone for being overweight was when Tkachuk came back from the lockout looking like John Kruk.

I almost spit my coffee out all over my computer screen when I read that LOL

For the record, he's just trying to compete with Kovalev's champion mane of hair....but he can't. Kovy has to condition his hair with a mixture of lemon juice and avocado 3 times a day to ensure ultimate sheen and thickness.

From HIO, Koivu coming back from a foot injury from 3 weeks ago. Puck he received from practicing with his team in Finland. Didn't skate for 2 weeks, started to skate again 3 days ago and it feels fine.

Found a pic of J.P. Cote at the AVS camp. Does anyone know if he signed a contract or did he just get an invite?

Koivu said that his foot injury was not the reason why he wasn't at the golf tournament. Koivu preferred staying with his team in Finland to get in shape since the tournament was 3 weeks before the camp. Talked to Gainey about it who agreed.

Man, the Avs board sucks on this site. I did a search for Cote and the closest I could find were the threads on our board + ones on Riley Cote.

Has to be a try-out 'cause he wasn't even part of the training roster when it was release a few days ago. Can't see how he suddenly would have been signed.

Of course players should report in shape. They make enough money and they should be glad to have the opportunity. But if anyone is overstuffed, I'd prefer it to be a player who gets 5 minutes of ice time a game.

But you probably won't get a chance to meet everybody...certain players will hang out, others won't, for whatever reason. I don't remember seeing anyone with pics of them and Kovalev, for example.
I was there and the rumor was that Kovalev parked in the back so he wouldn't have to sign anything.

Maybe this year he'll sign stuff now that he's a hero again

I will be there both days. Sunday will be obviously better with those scrimmages.

The last years that I've been there, I succeeded in parking at the arena or just beside it but for whoever stays near the arena, is there another parking lot that has more room and that we can use that is close enough to walk to the arena?

In the back on the left side there is a huge parking lot and there is a door you can access from there, then you cut in 2 rinks and your at the front entrance, about a 3 minute walk

Are you sure that players show up really early. I know it's not the same, but in dev camp they were coming in bus and when they came right at practice time and jumped right on the ice, but those are older guys with car, homes and stuff so it might be different.

At what time do they usually show up cause i wanna get some stuff signed and meet them, especially younger guys.

Thanks
