yeah, i'll give it a shot tonight, see if it works. might be a moot point since my internet is on the fritz (freakin' comcast). i might have to find an internet hotspot and just camp out tonight

what i wouldn't give to be back in philly tonight (or opening night for that matter). the flyers are playing in chicago this year and i'm going to make an effort to make the trip to chi-town to see them.

you actually enjoy driving on 95 on game nights?

Just this one. Also, I know how to get around the traffic. When I have to meet my brother, we just take Frankford Ave.

I posted this earlier in the thread. It should work, I'm crossing my fingers.

Tonight's line up according to the new beat writer

Goalie Marty Biron will play the first two periods, with Maxime Ouellet in the nets in the third period.

The defensive pairings: Braydon Coburn and Ossi Vaananen; Luca Sbisa (remember the name) and Steve Eminger; and Ryan Parent and Sean Curry.

Sbisa, thye club's No. 1 pick in the June draft, says his goal is to make the club this year. Yes, he has a lot of confidence for an 18-year-old kid. "I like that," coach John Stevens said.

Tonight's lines look like this:

Andreas Nodl-Mike Richards-Scott Hartnell;

Scottie Upshall-Jeff Carter-Claude Giroux;

Jon Kalinski-Steve Downie-Arron Asham;

Riley Cote-Darroll (that's not a typo) Pow-Matt Clackson.

EDIT: never mind runkle just posted it a min after I asked haha.

Wow, gotta love Sbisa's determination...that'd be sick if he made the team and actually played well. They were talking about him taking atleast 2-4 years

I'm dying to see that Upshall-Carter-Giroux line...CAN'T WAIT!

i'm actually really excited to see sbisa. i admitted knew very little about this season's draft (besides the top 5 picks) so i want to see how he is. if he could make the team out of camp, i'd be ecstatic. who'd be the odd man out though if that were to happen? vaananen? kukkonen? eminger?

w00t, Luca, Andi and Claude are playing. Those are the three prospects I'm most excited about in camp (closely followed by Fat Pat). I hope I can get some footage of it somewhere.

Reminds me of Corrente when he was freshly drafted. He's had two good camps and a third this year will hopefully land him a spot on the team. It'd be cool to see Sbisa make it right away for you guys.

By the way, is Giroux a lock to make the team? I've heard alot of good things.

Saying he's a lock might be pushing it (mainly due to the sheer number of quality forwards available), but he's about as close as it gets.

The kid can flat out play and I can't wait to see him on a regular line.

at this point, no one besides the core players are locks to make the team. if you get outplayed, you're not going to be on the starting roster. though i think giroux has one of the better chances of making the team, so i hope to see him on opening night.
