I agree with you on Downie. In his own end, he seems lost and tends to keep his head down rather than looking up.

As I said, I like Downie....and he certainly does some great things out there. But, on the whole...in my opinion, he's not good enough to be an NHL regular. Hopefully he will be eventually, but I still don't see it. Maybe as a fourth liner, but it seems they're hoping to get more out of him than that...and with that in mind, I think he should be a Phantom when the season starts.
Well, i didn't see much of any of that in my opinion. I thought he was the best forward on the ice

Where can I go to get pics from the game? The Flyers site has them in flash and I can't save them.

BTW, I just dropped off my blank jersey to have it "Cannonized" with a Capital C on the front.

I should have it back next week.

Might be the weekend, if not next week. I'd think 1 or 2 more preseason games before they decide how much of some other players they want to see. He's got no hope of making the team because there are simply too many defensemen under contract, so there is no real reason to keep him around the entire preseason when he can play in competitive games, and there are a few other guys they want to get a look at too.

If your using a PC you can do the Alt-Print Screen trick, and open Paint and hit Ctrl-V or Paste.

If your using a Mac you can use the Grab utility.

I thought this was a pretty funny pic. Too bad it's got the big watermark.

Those pics are sweet, it is a joy seeing him with the C.

I love comparing him and Clarke with my Dad. Generational difference but yet the same type of hockey player.

Abso-friggin-lutely.

I'm also lovin' all the Richards pics. I'm so excited about a new season to Photoshop! LOL

I didn't even get much time to listen to the game, but I'm glad we won. I'm happy about Downie, and I'm not going to get too worried about Giroux yet.

For the noobs out there, Downie actually does great board work. Which is something that takes years to learn (some never bother).

However, his turnovers & slow first step are what really hold him back at this point. Experience will fix the 1st, hard work will improve (but never quite compensate) the 2nd flaw.

I still think he should be 3rd line RW. But with Briere at RW on 1st line, this may not happen.

Think Downie could steal the 3rd line centre spot from Metropolit?

does anyone else think the C on his jersey just looks a bit funny? It seems like its too thick or something. It doesnt really look like the same style of C worn on Smiths jersey last year

Nodl and Kalinski definitely jumped out at me, and I thought Curry was pretty solid as well. Clackson was out of position a bit, but he played with a real snarl.

Good effort overall.
