I'm not trying to say we will be the best or even good on defense, because we most likely wont. But we will be damn good on offense.
It does look good on paper, but so have many other Ranger teams of the past. Just hope that chemistry isn't an issue. I really do like what the Bolts did this past summer. I am so excited to see Stamkos play tonight for the first time too.

Yeah, you make a good point. I guess im preaching to the choir when it comes to good lineups on paper that don't turn out that way. I think everyone figures chemistry will be somewhat of an issue this year, at least in the first half.

honestly.....i think the bolts make the playoffs this season....the peoblem with the rangers in the past is that they had no base....the bolts have their first line(which has played together) and players like malone, recchi and roberts who have played together(although i doubt they all play together). they have a solid base for their offense.....although, expecting more than 60 points from malone, IMO would be a bad idea

If the Lightning play up to their full abilities, they could definitely challenge for a P.O. spot. I'd agree with that.

fixed.....Malone wont have a career year with a Rookie who isnt even half the player Malkin is and Jokinen getting 30-30 on 3rd line is a joke. Im not even gonna start with Vrbata...

I was afraid to post that because I knew it would be ripped to shreds. My point was that the Bolts offense is top 3-5 in the east as far as potential. That being said, there will be a lot of ups and downs this year with the team. But my post was in response to someone saying the Bolts offense is not scary. And on any given night, that offense is most definitely scary.

By the way, you should update your Aaron Rodgers count to 2-1.

I'd love to see Korpedo play some center tonight so we can see if he can handle playing in the middle against NHLers so maybe we can slot him in on the third line to get Dubie more ice time. Still no Kondratiev, that's a surprise to me. If we carry 7 defensemen, Pock is firmly in the lead based on last night's game.

Naslund-Gomez-Zherdev
Byers-Korpikoski-Parenteau
Sjostrom-Anisimov-Jessiman
Jamtin-Betts-Orr

Redden-Girardi
Kalinin-Sanguinetti
Del Zotto-Potter

Amen to that!

And by the way, Aaron Rogers, 2-1, after getting whooped by my 'boys.

Renney was quoted somewhere today saying he likes Korpikoski on the wing because he can use his outside speed and ability to hunt people down (I think it was the Daily News). He may fill in on occassion at center, but his future's at wing, and there's no way they'll move Dubi to wing in order to make Korpikoski a center.

As for the lines, I'd love to see Byers - Anisimov - Parenteau, because they're familiar with one another and have spent time together in Hartford. I think it would give all three the best opportunity to show what they can do. But I wouldn't mind seeing Jessiman with Anisimov either, because for some bizarre reason they seem to bring out good things in one another.

Getting whooped you mean losing to a team without Atari Bigby, Al Harris, Nick Barnett for half the game, Brady Poppinga, Ryan Grant for half the game, A broken Toe'd Charles Woodson, Kory Hall, and Ruvell Martin. Okay....Our Redzone Offense SUCKED that game though, and Marion Barber is insane though. Miles Austin came out of nowhere.

Anyone else find it odd that Colton Orr of all people will be the only one to play in all 3 games thus far?

-I think it is more Renney being concerned that things might get out of hand during one these preseason games. The two games against Ottawa were very tame in comparision to most pre season games. Alot of these games are filled with fringe players trying to make an impression anyway they can. That usually leads to alot of rough stuff.

-I am looking forward to seeing Byers tonight.

And I said not "too" scary

They still have a pretty decent amount of players who can put up points, more than the Rangers, but I'm just more still concerned about the Pens and Wings and probably some other teams.

I think it's that guys like Malone and Vrbata and Jokinen don't really scare my by themselves. They seem more like complimentary players. Maybe that's my bad for underestimating them, I don't know yet.

I wouldnt underestimate him, he has been the best player in the preseason so far, i know that isnt saying all that much considering St.Louis and Lecavalier havent been playing, but to an extent he has lead them team and that will hopefully continue this season as he plays 2nd/3rd line centre.

Not really, maybe PukkuMikku or whatever he calls himself now.
After 2 unexpectedly soft games vs OTT you just know there may be a need for an enforcer tonight.
