Let's just hope it's not a big deal. It probably isn't, but you never know.

I'm just disappointed we won't get to see Lats-Lang-Kovy.

Agreed with all posts about the training camp schedule being taxing. I like Carbo's approach. The top guys have yet to play, outside of Tanguay, who he hasn't coached (and may want to get a good look at).

Also, I do think the Hockeyville contests are nice PR and great for the hosting community. However it made me cringe more than once last night to watch players catch a grove in the ice and fall. Also in many of these small town rinks the boards are nowhere near as absorbant as pro boards. And although I enjoyed the game and the intimate atmosphere on TV, I'm happy the Habs are out of hockeyville without any more groin injuries or cracked ribs.

Can't play, NHL does not allowed a NHL player to play 3 straight night.. They must sit.

they took the 100,000 dollars and changed the boards with the windows, and from the comments I have heard (think it was Denis although I'm not sure, the ice was very decent)..

I don't think it is a very good argument, but the ice is way smaller then any NHL rink, that could have change something.

Wow...Another one. It's harder for the older guys to get back into condition after the summer. Groin injuries are usually because you're not properly conditioned.

I call a "groin-injury-keeps-me-out-of-harm's-way" on this and many other similar hurts across the league, no coach wants his stars out there too much vs. a bunch of AHL-tryouts to get crushed from behind or mangled ala Boulerice.

Nothing to panic about, carry on.

This is a case of Veteranitis.

During training camp, or at the end of the year if things go wrong, veterans in their mid to late 30`s develop a sharp pain down there. Medically impossible to detect, but it`s there.

Rookiatis exists too, it happens mainly to small town boys playing in small nothing happening cities visiting Montreal, New York and Los Angeles during road trips.

Also known as The Clap in that case.

Considering Kovalev does not skate ALL summer, which means he has been on the ice about 5 or 6 times in the last 5 months, it is obvious that hes a bit sore. dont think its anything to be worried about.

Report says Beauregard takes his spot tonight. Maybe we'll see something like this?

G. Latendresse - Lang - Beauregard
Higgins - Chipchura - D'Agostini
Stewart - White - Kostopoulos
Wyman - Trotter - O. Latendresse

That's like 4-5 of our regular NHL forwards.

At least we've got Markov, Komisarek, and Price in the line-up.

D'Agostini, Chipchura and Stewart are the kids that needs the best combinations to be able to prove something since they could be called up at one point.

How the hell do you know he hasn't been on the ice more than 5-6 times over the last 5months??

From François Gagnon, seems that Kovy will be at the show "Tout le monde en parle" next Sunday on Radio-Canada....Gagnon couldn't resist in his article to say that we will see if Kovy's french courses will permit him to speak more french than his captain....

You say that like it's a bad thing.

Keep in mind it's still early in the pre-season. If I had it my way, our veterans wouldn't play until the last two to three games in order to minimize risk of injury while allowing the rookies to battle it out.

Hopefully nothing happens to the last three names you mentioned, either (though I wouldn't mind if they faked pulling a groin and managed to get "healthy" by the end of the Pre-season.

Skating is more important for Kovalev than improving his French. It would be wonderful if Gagnon asks him how his lessons are going and he says, "C'est trop difficile, totalement inutile."

As others have said here, looks more like a tactic to keep veterns fresh and uninjured for when it actually counts.

I don't mean it's a bad thing. If it were done by choice, I would have no problem with it. It's just never encouraging to have sore bodies, even in preseason. Hopefully everyone will be 100% come the real game 1.
