Twenty-five Canadiens games on CBC's Hockey Night in Canada this season. More than any other Canadian team. This is not a typo. Read on below:

Pretty fantastic for a lot of fans who can not afford or unable to get RDS.
Damn, I thought it was a typo then it would make 52 instead of 25.

Agreed a stellar team. They should bring Irvin back out of retirement just for the Habs games.

BTW, I want to see as much Leafs games as I can this year. I want to see a strong comedy every Saturday.

Just 1 question for the leaf fans. Does this now make us Canada's team now.

That the Habs are "on Hockey Night in Canada" doesn't mean they'll be the national game. Even when looking at the schedule, I see a bunch of times that there's a Leafs game going on that I suspect will be the national game.

so does this mean that we'll be able to see Habs games on CBC in Toronto as well?

On Rogers I know that for Global and Sportsnet they have different programming for different regions but you can usually catch all those channels. Will there be a CBC-T(oronto) and a CBC-M(ontreal) that we'll be able to tune into?

Probably not. It'll likely be blacked out because we're in the Toronto region.

If you have basic cable & you're in Southern Ontario you will always see the Leafs.

There is no black-out of NHL games on CBC. This means that if you have access to a CBC station that broadcast the Habs, you will see the game no matter where you are; so you should get a time-shifting option with many CBC stations.

Time-shifting doesn't help see the Habs unless they're the national game (and thus viewable on CBC-Atlantic), which I suspect they still won't be the majority of the time, unless they're playing Toronto. There's no CBC-Quebec/Montreal available on cable here.

We get CBC-Halifax, CBC-Toronto, CBC-Calgary and CBC-Vancouver.

I checked for the first 15 games that were announced on the CBC, and the Habs only had 1 conflict iirc. I can't be bothered to check for the 10 new ones, but I assume there are more conflicts in there. Still though, it looks like more than half the games will be national ones, which is great.

I'm just saying. They say 25 games, but these all have conflicts:

25 could easily be 13 for the majority of the country if none of these 12 games are national.

Date: Game (Conflict)
Oct 18: PHX @ MTL (TOR @ PIT)
Oct 25: ANA @ MTL (OTT @ TOR)
Nov 15: PHI @ MTL (TOR @ VAN)
NOV 22: BOS @ MTL (CHI @ TOR)
Nov 29: BUF @ MTL (PHI @ TOR)
Dec 6: NJ @ MTL (WAS @ TOR)
Dec 13: WAS @ MTL (TB @ OTT)
Jan 10: WAS @ MTL (TOR @ PHI)
Feb 28: SJ @ MTL (TOR @ OTT)
Mar 14: NJ @ MTL (CGY @ TOR)
Mar 28: BUF @ MTL (BOS @ TOR)
Apr 11: PIT @ MTL (OTT @ TOR)

if you have digital cable or satellite, you'll get all of the regional cbc broadcasts from bc all the way to ontario...(the games aren't blacked out either). so if you want to watch the habs game as opposed to the leafs one, just flip to the regional broadcast that's showing it. that's what i did last year....
