Derek Roy is one of my favorite players i know hes not avbailable but it would be cool to see him in edmonton.. i would give up: Horcoff and a mid prospect for him.

He has a GREAT contract. He's scheduled to make 3.5M$ this year. For a point-per-game, after all these salary inflations lately, his deal is very solid.

What's he worth in a trade? A good young defenseman and a prospect, some picks perhaps. He's obviously not available due to Buffalo's lack of any semblance of depth down the middle.

Roy is great, but he got some very bad advice on his last contract. He's locked in at 4 mill a year for 5 more years (including this one). To be locked in for that low of amount for that long was a very poor decision on his part.

Any reason you felt it necessary to make 3 paragraphs for something that could be combined to one sentence? Also, Roy and Richards are both centers. Start with Lupul and build out a lot from there.

Well obviously. The only way Buffalo will even offer you a contract is if it is notably under-valued; unless of course Kevin Lowe is involved.

Stop the stupid posts. Miller signed for 6M, Pominville's over 5M. Is Miller at 6M "notably under-valued"?

This is just one of the things that fans of other teams don't get. And no, Max Afinogenov is NOT SOFT.

When Roy and Pominville figure at 18th and 19th best scorer in the NHL, after Ryan Getzlaf and Eric Staal... they are "notably under-valued".

Other notably "under-valued players" : Getzlaf and Ribeiro.

When Buffalo signs their core, its "notably under-valued". When other teams do it, it's "great job at locking up their players"

If we're trading Roy, Philly starts with Carter. And builds.

Buffalo has its four best players signed for a total of about $21 million.

I only trade Roy for a forward that scored more points than Roy last year.

FWIW, the buzz at the time was that Campbell was willing to accept significantly less to stay in Buffalo long-term, but the NHLPA was breathing down his neck because it would set a lower income precedent.

Things aren't always so one-sided, folks.
