Pretty decent fight. I'd give the edge to Orr.

it's a shame...

Renney didn't put Nedved and Prucha together earlier. Thought they showed a lot of chemistry and moved the puck well on the cycle. Prucha seemed to be all over the place and in the right play most of the night. Had a tough go at it on the tip, couldn't complete a pass, but completed many others and won battles for the puck all night long. Even showed some strength here and there and made a couple nice plays getting back. Didn't notice Parenteau much on that line, except for missing the setup. I got the sense that the three, with more time, would've been burying those chances after a few games with each other.

Redden moves the puck well - he doesn't play defense very well. He's going to get beat a lot. Also, I'm not a big fan of the free pass - I think a lot of forwards are going to get free passes with this Rangers' defense, unfortunately, and I hope Lundqvist's knees hold up.

Korps made a nice move for the goal. Didn't seem as though anyone expected it, but he handled the puck quite nicely. Thought he had a decent game, but could've been a bit more aggressive and physical.

Interesting lilneup. I like Renney mixing things up, but at the same time I'm not sure he has a clue which direction he wants to go in.

Levitate...

was it several times? I thought Redden got scored on once (or did he just get beat badly on a play?), Kalinin another (with Potter, although this was on the Nedved-tipped pass), then the empty netter which makes for one more goal. I missed the fourth goal.

By several how many do you mean? Because I saw Kalinin getting owned twice, and Grattons wraparound was all Vally.

According to the box score, Redden was only on the ice for the empty net goal. Girardi and Pock were on for the first 2 lightning goals (which includes the Malone goal)

Kalinin was only on for the 3rd lightning goal, with Potter.

Could be that the box scores are wrong, but I definitely remember that Redden wasn't out there on the Malone goal

I doubt it's wrong. I remember Redden getting beat badly - I can't recall now that if the puck went in. I think I was in my kitchen stuffing my face on that play. Still, on Redden, he's going to get beat a lot this year. Hopefully he makes up for it on the PP and the breakout.

Naslund-Gomez-Zherdev
Drury-Dubinsky-Prucha
Dawes-Korpikoski-Callahan
Voros-Fritsche-Sjostrom

Betts, Orr

Redden-Staal
Rozsival-Girardi
Kalinin-Mara

Lundqvist
Valliquette
He's only assured about how I feel, him possibly being a first liner, but a better 2nd line player.

Lehtin.....umm...Korpikoski has the speed, shiftyness, shot, grit, and defensive awareness to excel on the top two lines of an NHL club.
