I don't think anyone is minding to much at the moment, we're absolutely hockey starved I think we'll agree, but yes, we've had issues in the past with GDT's being to early, gets people pretty worked up. I suggest to all once real hockey gets going that we continue to try to respect the tradition of only on game days, or at the very least later in the evening the day before.

Anyone recall that one guy a couple seasons ago that kept making them like two days in advance? The freakin' board revolted, it was pretty ugly for a couple days lol.. who was that.. I know he didn't last long..

edit: farzamk *shudder*

Just outta curiosity, we're now allowed to talk about streaming video, right?

Perhaps they haven't seen the announcement on the mod board yet?

Anyone know whats happening with Williams? I'm going to guess he's going to get a shot next game.. but there hasn't been much said about him.

They have a decent group of d-men there.Kind of too bad they had to part with Jokinen to get some of it.

well, seeing as how Pitts couldn't manage a single goal that wasn't gifted to them by us...I say we take this one.

4 - 2 Leafers

Leafs play 3 games in 4 nights starting tomorrow

Friday, Sept. 26: vs Pittsburgh, 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 27: at Buffalo, 7 p.m.
Monday, Sept. 29: vs St. Louis, 7:30 p.m
.

and then end the exhibition season 3 in 3

Friday, Oct. 3: at Detroit, 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 4: vs Detroit, 7 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 5: vs Columbus, 5 p.m.

So lots of game time for Marlies to fill rosters out and get a chance to show what they can do. However it doesn't at this point look like he is being considered for a roster spot. He is not skating with the main group but rather the other group.

As Wilson gets his players figured out things should steadily improve. It may not lead to a whole pile of wins but a more entertaining effort can be expected.

So happy hockey is back.

You just feel excited. Regardless if the Leafs are going to be crap.

They're going to be exciting.

I'd like to see.

Tlusty- Antropov- Hagman

Steen- Grabovski- Kulemin

Ponikarovsky- Stajan- Blake

Mayers- Moor- Hollweg

Colaiacovo- Kaberle

Kubina- Finger

Stralman- Frogren

Extra players I'd keep around, Van Ryn, Earl, and Mitchell.

White should be moved for a second rounder or something.

its weird but theres a bunch of guys I want to see on the 4th line, how come I like 4th line fodder so much theres Moore, Hollweg, Bell, Newbury, Mitchell, Earl, Deveaureux, Mayers and Williams jeez thats 3 lines of guys gunning for the final 3 and I would like to see them all make it. Personally my pick would be Mayers-Moore-Bell with Hollweg and Dev as extras

While the Leafs still lost the game, Wilson saw enough from his new pairings to give them another look at Thursday's practice. The team’s line combinations in practice were as follows:

Mikhail Grabovski - Nik Antropov - Nikolai Kulemin

Alex Steen - Niklas Hagman - Alexei Ponikarovsky

Matt Stajan - Jason Blake - Jiri Tlusty

Dominic Moore - Jamal Mayers - Ryan Hollweg

Mark Bell - Boyd Devereaux - John Mitchell

I'm excited to see him back but I wanted another game for Pogge. Maybe start him against the defending champs, because we play them twice soon.

I hope we see a better effort tonight from the blue and white. The effort Wednesday didn't seem to match what we saw on Monday.
