Schneider To Atlanta (Per CKAC)

Mathieu Schneider has been traded to Atlanta, per CKAC.

For Klee, Larsen, and Chad Painchaud.

Makes a lot of sense for them (Atlanta). He'll be a good influence on their young defense core.

Why Atlanta didn't grab him for free again?

Hopefully also to make Burke sweat.

Possibly also if they claimed him, they couldn't have know that other teams wouldn't have made claims behind them in the claim order. (Which would have affected their ability to trade him at the deadline for some futures).

He'll finish the season with a contender as long as he is healthy at the deadline.

He's just warming a roster spot for Atlanta.

Don't forget that by trading for him they can also trade Schneider at trade deadline which will help the team out in the long run.

Good move by Atlanta, something we're not used to.

Classless is pooping in a public sink, not paying a player who's best days are behind him, millions of dollars on a cup contending team.

why? There in this to win, who do you pick, Schneider or Selanne? The answer is very simple. Not only that but if he manages to play well this year he'l get re-traded at the deadline for alot more then what the Trashers got him

I can't see Gainey trading Koivu next season , to a buttom team . I can't see Holland trading Chelios to a buttom team either .Habs and wings are both considered as classy organisation . They take care of their peoples and respect the players like if they were members of a familly .

Best days behind him or not, many Ducks fans admit to Schneider being one of their more steady defenseman, and he sitll put up good numbers...

Schneider knew the risk of signing with the Ducks and he did it anyway. Everyone knew the reason was to replace Neidermayer, and if Neidermayer returned, he'd eventually have to go. There was no way with Anaheim's young offence and the need to lock them up that Schneider was ever going to play out his whole contract if/when Scotty returned, and again, he knew that.

Top 20 in scoring for NHL defencemen last season, and the only guy in the Top 40 aside from Zubov to play less than 70 games.

Do you mean after they're re-signed? I don't know about Chelios but Koivu would probably get a NTC.
