Marc-Andre Bourdon had 1g and 3 pts last night in his first game back with the Huskies. Huskies lose 7-5 to Shawinigan Cataractes. Bourdon is serving again as Captain of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies this year.

Panaccio wrote a blog about Sbisa on Hockeybuzz:

Quote:
Luca Sbisa was born in Sardinia. He doesn’t remember anything about that because he was barely a year old when his Italian mother and Austrian father moved the family to Switzerland.

“But my grandpa still lives in Italy,” says the 18-year-old defenseman, who is testing the odds to make the Flyers’ roster this season.

Luca grew up speaking Italian and German.

“My mom talks to me in Italian and I answer her in German,” he smiled.

That might be the first time I heard his name all rookie camp and training camp.

That's not surprising. He has a good shot to make Team Canada this year.

He scored two goals on the PP tonight. Great comeback.

Good update, thanks!

I looked up Captain Marshall's stats for the game, after the fact, and here's the game summary if anyone cares to check out the link to the Q site.

http://www.lhjmq.qc.ca/lang_en/index...d_partie=14733

I usually try to keep up with checking out stats to most of our prospects, but it's always nice to get fans from other teams pitching in with updates.

Zac Rinaldo also had an assists in his first game with Mississauga.

I added game-by-game links for all CHL players on the first page:

Jacob DeSerres
Kevin Marshall
Marc-Andre Bourdon
Luca Sbisa
Zac Rinaldo

Question: Whats the ceiling for Ratchuk?

Im really interesting in this guy, and the type of player he is. I know hes a few years off, but what can we expect from this guy?

I'm expecting him to potentially be a PP quarterback, but he will play slightly better defense than Berard. But, I have no idea.

This is tough, but i see his ceiling as being a player like Zidlicky or Corvo

Did Matsumoto have a bad camp? I noticed he hasn't made it into any preseason games.

I think he probably did alright, he certainly did very well at the prospects camp, but the roster is so stacked right now they probably think it's better for him just to get ready for the AHL by playing topline minutes in preseason. So he's down with the farm-team, I don't think it's a negative reflection on him at all.

I think he's gone from having an outside shot at the NHL at the beginning of last year to having a legit chance to be a 3rd or 4th line player in the league next year.

He scored again tonight and had an assist in a 4-3 win in OT.

Friday, his plane landed at 16:00 in Montreal and he arrived at the arena 10 minutes before the warm up. He then scored two goals in the game. Not bad for a player who was tired of travelling the entire day.

Next year is when Matsumoto gets his good look. As we know, no preseason games yet. Maybe today, I would assume the Flyers will send a similar team that Carolina sent yesterday.

For those looking for JVR, ESPNU will show UNH's game at home vs. Boston U on October 19 at 5pm. They also have another UNH game scheduled for January 4, but he should be at the WJC's.

Awesome! I'll definitely look forward to that 10/19 game. I hope JVR has a big year at UNH!

Yeah Holmer doesnt need to play Mats in pre season with the phantoms very close. Especially with our Centres right now.

If we are giving guys like Kalinski, Powe, Clackson, etc. a look, then i really am not sure why Matsumoto couldn't have hopped in at least one game. You would think he is near the top of the injury callup list
