Anyone seen the preview show last night?
some interesting talk:
1. Gabby won't sign in Minne. Look for Gainey to go after him.
2. Habs will be a good team but not built for the playoffs, according to the ex BJ GM, who I don't put any faith in because he is a bad GM.
3. Don Lever says Grabovski needs a lot of work because lacking skill without the puck. They don't think he can be Leafs 2nd line centre.
4. Tanguay is soft (lacking mental toughness) and if he was better, he'd still be in Calgary. They stressed that only 1 goal in 13 playoff games and barely mentioned the 8 assists as well.
5. Gainey didn't want the Sundin circus to continue into the pre-season and Lang is just a temporary fix for their need for a RH shot. Gainey may still persue him.
Marinaro this morning talking with Scott Brophy said that the Wild are very interested in Higgins so that may be a deal they offer. They wanted Higgins last year, apparently they offered PM Bouchard.
As for sportsnet, Alot of them picked the Habs to face the Wings in the SCF.
man don't listen to sportsnet, when they have guys like kypreos and mclean on their show. They also lost crediblity when they brought ek to their show for the trade deadline a few years back.

Gosh…That’s some pretty HUGE news. How is this not getting more exposure? Very interesting stuff indeed there…Gaborik in Montreal would be amazing, and the fact that we are still potentially going after Sundin is also big news.
I would honestly not take ANYTHING that that hockey panel says seriously. The only one that can give an interesting comment is the guy who is (or was) with the Hockey News... the guy with the goatee.
The rest.... pffff.
Take any serious fan who can string together a few sentences with saying "ahhh" "ummm" and you have someone who's opinion is of equal worth.

It's not news, it's the opinions of hockey dynamos Kypreos and Watters, and let's not forget that shrewd rater of talent Doug Maclean.
Kypreos said something about Kovalev being in excellent shape and having another seven good years in him, something along those lines. I was surprised because Kypreos is usually bashing anything about the Hab's and their players.

Agreed, the only good guy they've ever had was Lebrun and I'm pretty sure he was smart enough to peace the hell out of there.
I watched their Habs segment and their analysis afterwards, how do you do a preview of the Habs season without mentioning the names Plekanec, Kostitsyn, Markov, or Komisarek? What a waste of time.

Don't forget stylish blazers with open dress shirts (no ties) and jeans.

I figured some people would appreciate knowing what they said without having to watch the show. I watched it because I had insomnia. I guess you have to put your two cents worth of sarcasm to most threads?

Kypreos is the one saying that. The guy was never very smart to start with and the concussions didn't help... It's possible, but very unlikely. Gainey wouldn't want to drain the system for Gaborik.

That is somewhat interesting but I wouldn't put too much emphasis on it. They did say that the Lang trade was to take the attention away from their talks with Sundin, but I still feel that Sundin will be a Ranger and that was the overall consensus on the panel.

Too much. Higgins and McDonagh ought to do it. Maybe a third as well but that's it.
Too much? Are you crazy? This is Marian Gaborik we are talking about here. A 26 year old 42 goal scorer possibly the fastest and most electrifying player in the league (after Ovechkin). A player who would easily hit 50 goals on a team this offensively focused and gifted.
But really a 2nd line winger and prospect is way too much for that kind of talent...
