With the pick of Liam Reddox at 112 does that mean that the small guys are getting better recognition?
IIRC Corey Locke was slated to go 150th overall last season with these numbers (66gp, 63-88-151, +47, 83pims and standing 5'10", 190 lbs) but I don't know where he was actually picked. Reddox is basically the same size (listed at 5'11", 185 on the Pete's site) and had less than half as many points...
Can someone fill in the blanks with Locke's draft status, and does anyone know of any players who we might be hearing about in years to come?
I think the pick of Reddox is significant for two reasons: His size, and he's a skill player taken in the point of the draft the Oilers are usually drafting guys who are eligible for the tsn bus pull championships.
The only smaller players I recall KP drafting (fwds) are Helminen and Johansson, and they were in the 240s in 2002 when they had a dozen or so picks and they are players of a different type.
They must like this kid.
Locke was taken 113 in 2003 (same spot basically) by the Habs, and had another impressive season (51-67-118) this past year.
