Schwarz > Dubnyk

have you ever seen a newborn horse trying to walk? It's just like watching Dubnyk in goal

Oh well, I don't feel sorry for the Oilers blowing another pick

Picking Dubnyk over Schwarz was this year's version of the Oilers trading down for Pouloit rather than picking Parise. Both years they have had incredible opportunities to pick highly skilled (and ranked) players who have for whatever reason slipped down to their pick, only to be passed by. Maybe time will tell, and Pouloit and Dubnyk will surpass Parise and Schwarz, but I think on both occassions the Oilers miscalculated.

With the amount of bad luck the Oilers have had getting their prospects from Europe over, I can't say I blame them for drafting Dub over Schwarz.

And they had Dubnyk ranked higher than Schwarz... who's to say? Schwarz certainly didn't turn heads in the WJHC, except his own as he fished a truckload of pucks out of his net.

If the Oilers picked Schwarz... would we have still gotten Schremp? Who knows who St Louis would have picked if they didnt pick Schwarz? Even if St Louis didnt pick Schremp.. they could have taken some other teams player causing THEM to take Schremp.

Overall Im happy with the way it turned out. Im more happy having Schremp in the stable than I would have been with Schwarz.

I also read somewhere that St. Louis wanted to move up to Edmonton's spot to draft Dubnyk but Edmonton said no. If both St. Louis and Edmonton had Dubnyk ranked higher than Schwarz, what does that say about Schwarz.
