With recent events, is Kovalev out of the picture?

Kovalev was a horse in the playoffs. Bonk brings his annual Tvedorsky disappearing act into the playoffs.

Garon is much better than Huet. Not that Huet is a bad but there is no depth behind Theodore.

Garon is better than Huet... but much? Bonk's playoffs have been fairly good, you should take another look at the stats, and not just this past year's playoffs. Getting Bonk addresses a need ... SIZE, it's what everybody here was whining about for the past couple of seasons... I still am hopeful that BG will lure Kovalev back to the Habs!!!

I don't think that people are complaining about getting a big 6'3" player...rather that he has a checkered past and comes with such a high price tag...and that Bob overpaid.

The key is whether this move eliminates the possiblity of Kovalev signing due to Bonk's high $alay. If CH can get Kovalev on top of Bonk, then this definitely would make CH stronger. If this move was done as a replacement move for losing Kovalev, then this is definitely a bad move.

And as for not having pressure to score in Mtl...I mean, wasn't CH's main problem that they had no one to score after Koivu and Zednik? Although Ribs and Ryder can now score a bit also, at $3.5M, he'd better chip in...but if he could only score what he did playing with the talents of Hossa and Havlet and etc, how does he expect to score playing with the talentless wingers that Montreal has (without Kovalev)?

Bonk was a high first round draftee...and has not lived up to his potential...by far. Although BG overpaid and Bonk is getting overpaid, he has a fresh start here and a chance to prove that he is deserving of that high pick. Let's just pray that he can reach his potential in MTL!

Huet doesn't need a G5 with a software database to know the wines. He smells, he “renifle” and he knows what wine to order with the proper meal. Good move by BG. Always need a guy like Huet to navigate thru high class restaurants. These young millionaires need to show class when it counts!
