Russians clearly have more incentive and are trapping, and sitting on the 1-0 and 2-0 leads. Lundqvist has had a horrible preseason, but it's preseason and i am hoping he is being nonchalant because of that.

And Betts needs to only play on the PK. he is absolutely worthless at even strength but he makes up for it on the kill. I say double shift our 8 million dollar a year center

it's quite interesting game with scoring chances on both sides, but Mezin (Magnitogorsk goalie) is very solid and Henrik made 2 weak saves

Maybe Hank should spend less time at fashion shows in the off-season, and more time working on keeping his game up.

He's been absolutely garbage all pre-season.

It's not even as if we're being seriously out-played. Hank is just letting us down.

Hank was pretty bad previous preseason as well, so what? He needs to play games and get into the flow. He's clearly rusty.

And if you think that shot was a routine save, it was not. A hard slapper over the pad and under the blocker is a nasty shot to save. It may look routine, but it's not. I'm not saying he shouldn't have had it, he should because he's Henrik, but it was still not a routine save.

And oh, it's pretty clear Korpikoski should make the team. He's clearly making a case for himself.

Gomez and Drury duo is as overrated as you can get.

Naslund-Gomez-Zherdev ---that on the other hand had some real chemistry when we first started to see pre-season games. Those 3 were flying.

Korpikoski proved why he is an NHL player. On the play where he circled around the net, if he centered it or fired it on the long side (like loser Betts and Straka used to do all the time), the puck shoots around the board and turns into a 2 or 3 on 1 the other way. But he shot it on the short side and the goalie had to make a tough save.

Very smart kid and it would be a travesty if he doesn't make the team.

I do remember Hank not being so great the last 2 pre-seasons so maybe this is more of the same? with any luck he is just shaking out the cobbwebs and he will find his game soon...

agreed....good smart move....i wish he shot the puck on the ice there though...hoping for a rebound.....just nit-picking though

An offensive powerhouse that has lost basically every preseason game and struggled enourmously on their European tour against teams such as Berlin.

Not completely. While a less talented SC Bern team wasn't able to score early or grab a lead, there was some nail biting going on when it became 2-1.

I know it's an exhibition game, but given what is at stake here, I'm already pissed with how things have unfolded thus far. I agree that Henrik Lundqvist seems to have his head somewhere else at the moment and the Rangers aren't playing well (or well enough, obviously). The scoring chances have been so few, it's frustrating to watch. Andrei Mezin was solid in making the important stops on the few shots he has faced.

I cannot believe the Metallurg Magnitogorsk owner is offering a $100,000 bonus to every player should they beat the Rangers. What the hell? All the more I want the Rangers to defeat these clowns. Screw the KHL. I want a win here today and then them be ready against Tampa Bay on Saturday.

difference in this game is hank has played poorly and the russian kid has made the saves.

i said it yesterday, the game against bern was still 2-1 in the 3rd period before our pp blew it open. so far, weve played the same offensively ineffective game today and maybe with vally in net its still 0-0.
