Johnnson has been paired with Greene already and Doughty with Gauthier. So O'Donnell will probably be paired with Preissing.

Harrold is the odd man out....I would think he maybe gets sent down or is the #7 guy...

Well Deano specifically said he was looking for a left handed shot dman to play with Doughty so there's a good chance they pair them together especially since O'Donnell is much better at defensive coverage.. unless Doughty shows he's not ready for top 4 minutes that's when Preissing (or someone else) would likely be paired with the Irishman..

I think that Doughty and O'Donnell will play together. Harold and Gauthier will split time playing with Preissing.

Welcome Home SOD...

Good to see Sean welcomed home so warmly! As I said in another thread he is too kool a guy to be a dang duck! He will be a nice mentor an stand up guy for our team an our utes! Also a guy who I was sad to see leave!

Glad he got the cup one of the only ones I was happy about when they won! Nice what his former teamate said of him too! Shows he is appreciated and a well respected guy.

please tell me you're being sarcastic with this post, we have one of the youngest d-corps in the league!

Don't want to parse this too fine but Harrold is 25 (June, 1983).
I would think we need Johnson in there too.

What I don't like is the point production capabilities of this group. Placing all your eggs in Doughty's basket is also not much to my liking. If he's counted on to be second in scoring behind Preissing (who desperately needs a come back season) then that could well backfire. Will Johnson crank up the points? It should be a decent defensive defense although there is a question mark on mobility. Without Stoll on the point the PP group would be attrocious. It will be a rough and tumble defense, that I surely like.

I know, it was just a sign that they should have never left him unprotected in that expansion draft.

I'm gonna have to disagree with this. While I agree that it sucked that O'Donnell got taken, the fact that the Kings wanted to protect both of their goalies limited the number of guys they could protect and O'Donnell was the odd man out. Looking back it sucks because neither of those goalies went on to anything (it pisses me off so much I won't say their names) but the logic made sense at the time.

Considering how poorly "terrible goalie #1" was overall did Courtnall even deserve to get his ass kicked? At the time? Hell yeah ... now ... maybe "terrible goalie #1" had it coming.

I wouldn't care if the Kings had Brian Hayward as goaltender, if someone runs him, you kick the ever loving **** out of them. It's the principle.

Hell yeah he deserved it and he got it from O'D. That same reaction should have happened after Labs got speared by Smyth.

Agree even if Brian Hayward was our goalie and a player ran him I would go after him!! But of course I would buy him dinner after the game
