Depth: There is a lot to be excited about.

The main thing I have noticed this pre-season is the marked increase in organizational depth at all positions.

Now our team won't be confused with LA, or PHO, or MTL, but Sutter has taken a team with maybe the worst farm team in the league 3 or 4 years ago and built a solid staple of prospects at all positions.

Obviously some of the players in the system Darryl has inherited. However having inherited them he had the insight to keep them and cultivate them for 4 + years...

It would be interesting to dig up the team depth charts from 2002-2003, But I'm quite certain it would look much worse then this across the board.

G-
-Kipper(2nd Round Pick)
-Curtis M, developed in house NHL backup
-Keetley, average to above average Goalie prospect
-Irving, depite an apparent loss in value Irving remains a high end goalie prospect
-Lalande, developing minor pro at the ECHL level
etc..

D-
-Phaneuf
-Regehr

-Sarich
-Aucoin
-Giordano
-Vandermeer
-Pardy
-Pelech
-Negrin
-Brodie

-Baldwin
-Aulie
etc..

F-
-Iginla
-Langkow
-Bertuzzi
-Cammalleri
-Lombardi
-Boyd
-Moss

-Glencross
-Bourque
-Nemizs
-Backlund
-Wahl
-Armstrong

-Greentree
-Chucko
-Ryder
-Prust
-VanderGulik
etc..

The bolded players are random guys I felt like highlighting....They are probably either impact players who will be a part of the team even in 3 or 4 years or youngsters I just especially like...

I know random, fire away...but good to see our prospering team depth...

I agree, our depth is looking excellent...definately random on the bolding (Brodie not Pelech, Armstrong not Backlund). As has been mentioned many times on this board...sutter may not have drafted too many high-end "gems" but he unquestionably has done a good job of providing organizational depth.

I bolded Brodie and Pelech, as well as Armstrong and Backlund?

I did forget Brett Sutter though...
