It's a new season, I can't wait for next week. Try to save all the pessimism for November

Those two have been bright spots this preseason.

Weber has been very physical as well as smart defensively. I could only find stats for 3 of the 4 games he played in.(NHL.com does not have stats for the hockeyville game) But in those 3 games he was a +/- of 0 in each. Which is impressive since he had a +/- of 0 in the 7-4 opening loss to Toronto.

In the two games Rivet has dressed they have given up 3 goals total and he is a +1. I don't think its a coincidence the Sabres played their best defensively with him in the lineup

He's only -1 so far tonight in a preseason game. Can you at least wait until the games count to be overlycriticle of the players you don't like.

Pre-season hockey is not a very good indicator of how a player/team is going to play in the regular season. Plus we always suck against the Wild.

There is no broadcast available. My guess is that Vanish showed up...(ie. Vanek didn't show up). All I can confirm is that he took a slashing penalty which led to a Wild goal.

Maybe he's going to score a natural hattrick in the 3rd...who knows with this guy.

The defensive pairings going by what vcv posted too are going to change for the season, and that might help out tremendously (as would adding Rivet).

No Goose, Mair, Kaleta, Rivet or Weber.

They are just too sweet for words this lineup.

EDIT: Stafford with a slap and tickle fight

I think we should still reserve judgment until the regular season actually begins and everyone plays that is supposed to play.
