seriously, he was not booed.
Even pre-game when showing the players on the screen (which is INSANE) he was cheered.

Only guys booed were Dandenault and Brisebois

IMO, he isnt ready yet... Breezer and Dandy(surprinsigly solid) were way more solid... he has a good slapper though but unfortunately rarely on the target

Nobody was booed on Sunday night... but there was dead silence when Dandenault was on the screen.

I know. If you read the thread you could see that this was mentionned before and that distortion on the radio made it sound like boos.

Its true about the highlights of Dandenault, it was kinda funny

First, the new scoreboard...

Game thoughts:

- 4-0 at the Bell Centre so far. Yeah, only pre-season, but in the past we made the Bell Centre way too friendly for the opposition. It's a good sign that we are taking care of business so far at home. I really don't think 30 home wins is an unrealistic goal at all this year with our crowd.

- The Plekanec line had one AWESOME shift in the 1st and then basically didn't do much. Pleks and Kosty look bored, they've played a ton this pre-season and they want the real thing to start you can tell. Kovalev's goal on the PP was helacious slapper that Fernandez had ZERO chance on. But whatever, this line won't eb judged by one pre-season contest.

- The Higgins-Koivu-Tanguay line had its moments of good play. The chemistry wasn't there and the passing a bit off at times. They are crazy fast though. Tanguay on the PP point is going to be decent at the very least IMO.

- Latendresse played a strong game, his goal was EXACTLY what he needs to be doing. Parking his big body in front of the net and cashing in on the rebound. Lang is going to need a few more games to fit in, especially offensively. No chemistry right now between he and his wingers. I liked the little plays he made though, he's really good with his stick and surprised me defensively. D'Agostini was quiet, which is why he is now cut.

- Stewart-Chipchura-Kostopoulos were a competent 4th line. They did their job. Chipchura wasn't as visible in this game as in the Detroit game, but he performed well. He had his moments. Stewart was OK, but OK wasn't good enough as the cuts showed. Kosto was Kosto.

- The PP looked good, even without Markov. The amazing thing about this unit is that once they get one, the ball gets rolling and they are nearly unstoppable if they get other chances.

But there is one thing that concerns me...first 5 on 3 chance, what trio does Carbo use? Koivu-Lang-Kovalev. Sigh. If I am Pleks and Kosty, I am so pissed when I see that.

- Another strong night on the PK, I would bet the coaching staff made improving the PK one of the goals this year and it's working so far. TONS of blocked shots, even Breezy blocked a Chara shot.

- Speaking of Brisebois, he looked 10 years younger tonight compared to last night. Very solid game in all facets, cashed in on a rebound on his goal. I don't understand the hate he gets at HF, you can do far worse than him as a spare.

- Gorges is just so awesome in an underated way. He does all those little plays to get pucks out and break rushes up. Real hockey connaiseurs can see what he brings, unlike those yahoos in SJ who thought he sucked.

- O'Byrne was MUCH better tonight and absolutely FLATTENED poor Stephane Yelle into the boards, Komisarek style in the 1st. What a hit! He competed and played strong defence. Re-assuring.

- Better game for Weber too, he took a strong shot on net, which led to Breezy's goal. Poised with the puck. He'll be a NHLer for a LONG time.

- Bouillon was very good too, kind of similar to Gorges in making all the little plays that help you win games. He absolutely CLOCKED Ryder at one point, which the crowd loved (more coming). Bouillon apparently left the game in the 3rd though with an injury (no word on it).

- Dandenault actually looked competent out there on D, let's hope some team was watching!

- Halak was awesome. I honestly think we have the best goalie duo in the league. He had zero chance on the goal allowed.

- Ryder got booed and jeered the whole night, it was awesome. I just hope that when guys like Souray and Streit return this year they won't get that same treatment. Ryder was awful last year and deserved the boo birds tonight, the other 2 left for entirely different reasons, mainly because they did too well in their UFA years. We also booed the heck out of Chara.

- This Boston team does not scare me at all. I know it was pre-season, but their nearly A lineup still can't skate with us, they still can't contain our skill, they still have no answer for our PP, their D is still too slow and they had trouble generating great offensive chances tonight with us missing our 3 best Ds.

I didn't see the game, so I can't contribute much about how the Habs performed. I scanned the game thread on the Bruins board and I thought it was interesting that a few Bruins fans complimented Gorges on his steady play. That sort of thing usually escapes the notice of the opponents' fans.

Fernandes was solid, he had no chance on all 3 of the goals
Lot of work to be done on the team game. Lack of speed doesnt help them.
Savard and Chara didnt look interested in the game
Lucic thought he was mario lemieux...wasnt really working
Bergeron looked lost
Ryder sucks!
Alberts is just, well, bad!

Yeah, Bergeron was MIA. I liked Wheeler and Sobotka.

You guys desperately need another speedy, skilled D.

They don't have nugget boxes for Latendresse. They have nugget bags.

God I have to get some preseason action ...

Spoke to a friend who was at the game he said that both benches looked preeeeeeeeetty bored ...

He was behind the Bruins bench during the first and kept taunting Lucic until security moved him.

he kept yelling :'' shana tova '' you '' f-word '' to Lucic

I was at the game:

Brisebois and Dandenault played well.
Higgins-Koivu-Tanguay were buzzing but there's no finish on that line.
Kost-Pleks-Kovy were very good, dominated when they were on the ice.

That's the thing though.. does Bergeron really need to try? Where-as there other two guys need to play their hearts out to make the team.

Wow, this caught me by surprise. Having looked at (but not posted in) the GDT on the dark side, I didn't think anyone wanted to hear anything from over here. Heck, JD tried, and was basically ridiculed away with the same cry-baby sarcasm that we've learned to expect from Sens fans.
