TSN Scoring Projections

what do you think?

I think they could be pretty accurate for the Habs they have on the list. Maybe switch Lang's pts project with Koivu's, but overall I agree with them.

Overall, its not that bad. They are based alot on last season's results but i can understand that (they however predict 75 points for Toews). It would be great for us if Tanguay gets that much points.

It's not bad! Tanguay would be our leading scorer, which is possible, as Kovalev might not be able to keep up with last year's incredible pace. He'll have more coverage for sure from the opposition. Can't wait to see the first game!

Kovy, Koivu and Higgins are a fair bit to low. For none Habs at a quick glance and I see Iginla and Heatley with more points.

Agreed. I'd also be very surprised to see Price get 37 wins. To predict 37 wins, they probably see him going like.. 37-23-5 which would be 65 games.. leaving Halak with just 17.. and I think there is going to be a lot more competition than that in net.

30-35 games for Halak
50-55 games for Price.

i think halak will start maybe 25 games this season and not more unless price is injured or strugling.

also they said that jose is still playing in colorado...

25. Jose Theodore Colorado 31 2.55 .904 3

Not to quibble, but having 9 players who scores 50+ points is pretty unprecedented.

Then again, I'm not sure the NHL has seen a team quite this deep in a while. It lacks the true top-end talent, but the 3rd line could be a 2nd line on many teams.

And there's a possibility of having 9 twenty goal scorers on the team. I don't know what the record is.

My biggest problem with that is it really isn't taking lineup possibilities into account. If Koivu is going to be centering Tanguay, who is going to be our leading scorer, he won't be our third best scoring center, he'll be better.

It's interesting that they predict our top line to dip in scoring, but I'm not complaining. I'm pretty convinced we'll see some line up shake ups by the Winter.

Exactly. As well, you can't accurately predict which players will see the most ice time when there's so many forwards approaching their prime.

Koivu can hit anywhere from 45 to 75 points, depending on how the chemistry works out. I won't even try to guess.

11... don't get Don Cherry started on this... it was one of his 70s bruins teams.

to get 11 everyone on your first three lines has to get 20.... + 1 dman + 1 fourth liner.

Its tough.

Only problem I see with these predictions is that Glumac is way too low.

That guy is so underrated.

Holy crap!!

You think Montreal will be 58-19-5 for 121 points ???????

If Carey wants 40 wins, he'll need at least 65 games. If we prorate his win% of last season, he'd 40-20-8 in 68 games to get those 40 wins...

9 is a distant possibility, while 7 might just happen (Kovy-Pleks-Tanguay-Higgins-AKost- and two of Koivu/Lang/SKost/Lats).

Way too optimistic:

However, I agree that our top 10 will be our top 9 forwards + Markov

1. Tanguay: 24-48-72
2. Kovy: 28-40-68
3. Pleky: 24-42-66
4. Saku: 17-45-62
5. AKost: 32-29-61
6. Higgy: 26-27-53
7. Markov: 15-36-51
8. Lang: 20-29-49
9. Skost: 16-29-45
10. Tender: 20-18-38

I think Tanguay will be our point leader with near 75-80 points... I also think Higgins will put 40 goals this years!

1: Tanguay - 23-54=77pts
2: Kovalev - 28-46=74pts
3: Plekanec - 25-33=68pts
4: Higgins - 40-25=65pts
5: A.Kostitsyn - 39-34=63pts
6: Markov - 16-46=62pts
7: Koivu - 16-40=55pts
8: S.Kostitsyn - 13-38pts=51pts
9: Lang - 15-27= 42pts
10: Latendresse - 21-20=41pts
