Sens theme to be "used less frequently"

But it's not gone!

I got an e-mail from the Sens telling me that the theme is not gone, they were using Final Countdown during the pre-season, it's just going to be "used less frequently."

I was worried!

They're actually reading this thread. HI SENS ORGANIZATION!!!

It's pretty cool the way they had it in the pre-season.

Did I not hear some sort of mild rock theme at one of the pre-season games? They played something that sounded like an upbeat rally song.. Mybe my old ears are playing tricks, but....

I really liked the old song, but I have no issue with mixing it up. Keeps things fresh.... As long as the openings are entertaining and get the crowd started, that's all that matters.

I think they should put a band in the stands like at US college games and play the old anthem, plus other stuff.... Would be a blast and would keep the momentum...

IMO

They should put some Rammstein or some Killswitch Engage

The crowd would have no choice to get up and scream

In agony? I guess that's a way to get the crowd roaring (for mercy).

The Sens theme is original and is probably the only historic part of this organization. I like Gob Bluth as much as the next guy, but the final countdown is pretty ****ing unoriginal. Seriously, who is the idiot in charge of game presentation?

As epically good as that song is, I do agree.

I said years ago they should've used "Du Hast" as a crowd-pumping song.

I wish this organization made more of an effort to preserve what traditions and identity it has created in its short modern history, and build on that. I mean, what is this bull crapp about the original sense them song being used 'less frequently'? I hope they use it prominently forever. It's timelss IMO! It reminds me of the pride I felt when our city finally had an NHL team in 1992, and the pride I feel every time they take the ice.

Also, I wish they never went away from the original 2D centurion logo. Despite its short history (about 15 years), it already had a classic look. Then they went and bastardized it!

Come on Sens!! Stop trying to be modern and edgy and cherish what little history and tradition you have!!

I still hope they use the Sens theme for the playoff entrances, it wouldn't be the same.

I've been a fan since the dark age, and I've been to a lot of games at SBP, so please excuse my stupidity, but Sens theme?

The song they play when they come out on the ice before the start of a period. It plays during the announcement of the starting line-ups right until the singing of the national anthem. It's an instrumental piece with intermitent 'Let's go Senators' or something.

"Go Sens Go".

Sometimes I wonder if you're even a fan.

Couldnt have said it any better myself!
I understand the need to stay "fresh" but the song has been around since the beginning and should stay prominent as the team further grows its Army!

Actually, I definitely had a recording of this theme on my computer, and it definitely had a crowd screaming "Let's Go Senators!"

I downloaded it off the team website years ago, so it might be outdated, but I remember it for sure.

Yeah, in fairness, the original did have that. There is a newer version, but they have used this version for ages.

Terrible decision.

Final countdown seemed so ridiculous at the preseason games.

What was wrong with the Sens theme? God forbid we have something original instead of more overused arena music.
