It makes a lot of sense for the starting point of the deal. It was never said a 1-1 swap. Canucks are desperate for offense IMO and I could see them throwing in a top prospect or high pick to make it worth the B's time. Gillis wants to win and I could see him overpaying for a guy like Savard to make it happen. That being said as mentioned before both guys would have to waive there clauses and I can't see Ohlund doing that at this stage.

I dont believe this rumor, maybe Chiarelli is looking for a good defensemen via a trade but no way he's going trade Savard for a stellar D player, he already have Chara, why add another one???

I wonder if Savard would wave his NTC to go to Florida? I would doubt it.

Didn't see this coming. Why would they trade Savard, anyway? Don't they have a good shot at making the playoffs?

I don't think it's in the Bruins best interest to trade away Savard, unless its for another great player. Ohlund is not great, adding picks/Prospects is not going to sweeten the deal up.
They need capable players that can play immediately, they're not going for 8th seed this season.
They have a great team, trading away a 100pt player should get you a much better return than Ohlund.
Kessel and Bergeron are good centerman as well. But what if Bergeron gets injured again?..or if he doesn't find all his rhythm during the reg.sea.?
Savard/Bergeron/Kessel gives them great depth at center. Trading Savard would take a lot of that greatness out.

I'd be incredibly surprised if Savard gets traded out of Boston. Unless its for a player of similar impact(90-100pts).

personally I don't see Savard going anywhere.....the B's do need another quality D -man. Even with Chara.

Now, Kessel?
Wouldn't surprise me at all if he gets dealt.

Given his attitude and track record, there is no way in hell Boston would get equal skill in a trade with Savard.

Why would Boston do this?

They don't need both Fernandez and Thomas, trade/waive/buyout one of them and have Rask be the other goalie.

Would a swap Gaborik-Savard make sense?
Well... since Gaborik has more value than Savard IMO, I think Gaborik/Bouchard for Savard/Kessel would make sense. But I think that the point of trading Savard is to give a bigger role to Kessel (and Bergeron of course).

Why ? He's done a great job in Boston and Bergeron hasn't played a regular season game since his injury. Their D is not bad at all and they don't need to sacrifice their #1 center to get a 2nd pair offensive dman.

BS

What if Savard asked to be traded? They'd still have to ask him to wave his NTC when they find a team, so it could fit with what we know.

I doubt a guy who was stuck in Atlanta for a few years is going to complain about being on a good Bruins team. But you never know, drastic things could have happened, maybe a personal choice.

They could use a top line winger and a top defenceman. If they actually want to trade Savard they must feel Krejci is ready to be a #2 centreman.

Can only be MF that goes if one is to go to make room for Rask. Rask's salary hit plus MF's put the Bruins over the cap.

I read the article as the reporter speculating with Savard's name. RDS, on their crawler repeated, [translation] that the B's are actively trying to deal Savard, which, imo is unfounded and poor reporting by RDS.

Depending on what you think of McGuire, he claims that no one that he knows has heard any whispers whatsoever about Savard
