Tomas Kaberle

IMO philly was trying to overpay for him Kaberle since they were going to compete for the Cup, not because they just wanted Kaberle.

what's his real value so some more trades here can be more realistic when they have Kaberle?

Kaberle is a great top pairing D-Man who can score and who is signed to an awesome contract. That sums it up.

similar to what Dan Boyle got. Boyle better offensively, but Kaberle is argueable better defensively and on a much more cap friendly contract for the next 2 years.

significantly more than what Boyle got, considering he's 2 mill cheaper

I'd say something along the lines of Jordan Staal

What interests Toronto from Boston? Would something starting with Schaefer (salary cap reasons) and Lashoff be sufficient?

Some Leafs fans will say Carter, Parent, and a 1st from Philly.

I say that's awful overpayment.

Nope. Start with Kessel.

Honestly, I would LOVE to get Lucic, but I know the B's would not trade him as he's arguably your most popular player so I won't even mention him in this proposal.

I would think that it would have to start with Zack Hamill, then go from there.

I'd be willing to part with Hamill. Or even Colborne.

Colborne was pretty hyped up on the Leafs prospect thread by Mess around draft time. I'm sure most fans would be happy to have him.

I think a blue-chip prospect and a late first round pick is reasonable.

I'd take that, but i'm not sure if Chiarelli does, since he just re-signed Kobasew...

I think the whole Carter/1st thing blew up the actual trade value for him in some Leafs fans minds, for sure...and I don't think we'd get that 21-25 year old top center we want. I think it'd more likely be a top prospect forward (not "the" top prospect, but one of), a middle-of-the-pack roster player and a 1st rounder. Simply going by similar packages for other D-men recently.

In Boston's case, I think that Colborne/Hamill, 1st Rounder and >insert middling roster player< sounds about right, though I have no idea if Boston has any interest. I could see him going to a team like Phoenix, who traditionally can't spend as much but needs to have some success now.

Closer to what? A deal the Leafs would never accept?

Naw, Kabs is a great d-man. To get something good you have to give something good (unless were talking about the rask for raycroft deal). We would be intrested in some prospects and your 09 first. Im not that knowledgeable about boston prospects but looking at the hf rankings ill say kabs for 09 first, Lashoff, Colborne and like a second.

O'Sullivan and Hickey.

Leafs get stud young forward and great d prospect who has established chemistry with Schenn.

But LA likely doesn't do it, though it does make some sense. (cue Kings fans jumping down my throat about Visnovsky..)
