Tor:
Earl

Car:
Reed
5th

Basically a trade to address both teams weakness in prospect depth, Toronto adds a rw prospect, moving Earl who is unlikely to make our team this year. Carolina adds a lw prospect who is close to nhl ready. The pick is added because earl's upside is higher than reed's, and earl is closer to the big show.

Not a blockbuster, but addresses both teams needs in terms of prospect depth.

sane proposal, well done. I'd take it from a Canes perspective.

Didn't Earl play RW in his callups for the Leafs last year?

I know absolutely nothing about this "Reed" character, but I'd love to see it happen strictly because Earl isn't being given a shot here.

Sure, he hasn't proven to be the scorer in the AHL we've seen in him at times, but he's got great speed, good hands, good size and work ethic...and we're still fooling around with the Devereaux's and Hollweg's. I'd like to see him given a shot elsewhere.

Not a terrible prospect, scored 81 points a few seasons ago, but is coming off an off year.

Actually, the same. I was wondering how this trade was going to work without Jordan Staal being a part of it.

Jordan Staal, eh? Didn't know he was on Carolina.

I'd take this deal from the canes perspective. I'm just not a fan of Reed and he was awful last year.

I love how Pens fans complain when they see Staals name in proposals...And then in a thread that has nothing to do with Jordan Staal (or the pens) a pens fan brings him up...

It involves Toronto; ergo it must be about Jordan Staal.
