I can't imagine how Bryan Murray can be prepared to go with Gerber for the rest of the season. He's not going to all of a sudden become good at 35...
I think we do have a pretty good team that can contend in the playoffs, but we're not Detroit who can stick any schmuck in nets and have him face 15 shots a night. Our goalie is going to have to play well and bail us out some nights, and Gerber clearly isn't the guy to do it.
If we're going to waste a season with below average goaltending, we might as well just throw Elliott in there for 60 games and start with his development. Who knows, he might even better, but I can't see him being any worse than Gerber.
While I tend to agree with you somewhat. I think Gerber needs to be given the chance to redeem himself with some more games, but not that many. If nothing changes, I say we go for Khabby, or like you said, throw Elliott in, lets see what the rookie can do.
So he made a stupid play at an important moment in the game but because Spezza wasn't the one who handed it on a silver platter to Kennedy it's not a stupid play at an important moment?
Obviously, we share the same opinion about this.
Spezza is to blame, but Gerber is even more due to the fact that Spezza made ONE mistake to cost us a goal, Gerber made FOUR mistakes which lead to 4 goals.
