I'm with FLYLine... 5-1 loss.

Due for a let down? The season just started. Holy cow.

My prediction? Rangers win 4-2.

I'd be thrilled to see:

Naslund - Gomez - Drury
Prucha - Dubi - Zherdev
Fritsche - Korpi - Callahan
Voros - Betts - Sjostrom/Orr

Dawes really continued to show me nothing today. I think Orr has definitely improved, he actually looks like a hockey player now, but I don't think he's really required against TB.

It would be great to be 2-0 in Prague, that would be an excellent boost to come to MSG with on Friday.

But eh, 51-2 Tampa Bay. Stamkos 12 goals.

Yay! A game I get to watch!

Very impressed with this afternoon's contest. The creativity was so much better than at any time last year. There are a ton of playmakers on this team, and that's really going to help them. What a difference a year makes.

In all fairness, I was at the viewing party so I didn't get a great look at him TODAY. I have seen plenty of him the last few years though. If I had to guess - He probably had the adrenaline pumping due to the game in his homeland. I really don't think he'll be a top 6 forward this season.

To me, he always looks good in a top 6 role with talented players around him.

He's top 6 or nothing, really. It's unfortunate.

I'd rather have Dawes on Korpedo's line than Prucha. Dawes looked better on the 3rd and Prucha on the 2nd.

Anyone else feel Dawes needs to do something in this game before they go back to New York to keep his spot?

To stay on that 2nd line, yes. although I've been saying it a lot that I don't think he's a good fit on that line anyway.

What, you mean like perfectly screen the goalie on the GWG and really make no glaring mistakes? Yeah I'd like to see more of that out of him.

I am shocked some of you are predicting a loss being Rangers fans
I mean - what kind of true blue supporter would ever fathom doing this?
And an overtime loss by 5-1?
How is this possible?

....
....
....

Oooops - catching on now

....
....
....

Now I gottcha
I now will predict the 2nd game of the year - a Rangers win by forfeit by the Tampa Bayers when Henrik Lundquist pulls a striptease a la Charlestown Chiefs Championship game (Reggie Dunlop RIP) in the 1st intermission while Tampa leads 5-0 and D Koci subsequently beats up the referee for blocking his view (he wanted to see Swedish flesh) and gets the whole Lightening squad ejected while the fans riot and pillage Prague being totally plastered by drinking huge volumes of Czech beer (Staropramen Dark mmm).

How is that for a crazed Nostradamian prediction?

0-0 otl btw
Hank gets the shutout and the loss

Play hard, keep the pressure on, and be aware when St.Louis is on the ice and this is a win.

Prediction: Kalinin with the hat trick to silence us all in a 3-2 win.

Out of all the "predictions" this one has the least chance of happening.
But I agree with the 1st part.LGR!!!

I totally agree, I mean, you do have to give him some credit for the screen he put on Smith for the Dubi goal. Other than that, he has not showed much at all. Giving up the puck, bad passes, it doesn't look like he has the same work ethic he did a year ago. He will have to prove something if he wants to stay on the second line, and I wouldn't break up the third line to make a spot for him because that line was fantastic yesterday. But hey, this is just my opinion.

Let's get another win. Also, let's get that pp going and maybe another goal fro Dubi....however, I hope the people who score are Drury, Dubi, and Zherdev.

Yes, I wasn't able to get online until now but Prucha absolutely needs to be put on that second line over Dawes. Not only was Prucha was flying like his usual self and getting to every loose puck, but also was stickhandling beautifully and controlling the puck. Dawes on the other hand was useless with Dubi and Z.

My second prediction: Rangers lose 9-2, Prucha is told that he will sit next game, leaves in anger, and is signed by Brian Cashman to play backup shortstop for the New York Yankees.

I want to see alot better defense in front of Lundqvist. Allowing all these oddman rushes and breakaways are really bad in the long run. We should allow perhaps a third of the quality scoring chances that we allowed on the season opener.
