This update says they will use the white nameplate on the back, using the exact 67-68 jerseys...

It doesn't leave a whole lot of time for shipping for Christmas.

They're going to fly out of the stores and likely a whole lot of people will have backorder slips to open on Christmas morning (hopefully I'm not one of them!).

Personally I thought they should have revealed the jersey much earlier and worn it for the spectrum game. Charlie_girl, think about your avatar and the only way to make it even more awesome were if Schneider gave Cannon an orange sweater

Since it's more or less on topic, does anybody know where I could get a vintage Clarke or Hextall jersey for a decent price?

I'm happy to see the return of orange.

I am too -- it should never have been removed.

I'm not the biggest fan of the white nameplate, but I'm also sure I'll get used to it. I just can't wait to see these puppies on the ice!

I have no clue why people think the white nameplate looks bad. I think that jersey is sharp

I think maybe people think it looks old, but then again, it IS a RETRO jersey. I think it looks great. Anyone who misses the old days will love this.

in 10-20 years

and i agree that it's about time the flyers started wearing orange again. black was cool for a while, but the flyers should really be in orange. that's why i was disappointed when the old alternate (the one with the new style emblem, bleh) was the only orange shirt we had.

i think there's a reason that type of nameplate faded out. i wish it would just be the lettering on the jersey.

other than that, at least it's orange, with the original logo. i like it.

IIRC, the only time they used that was for nationally televised games in the mid 70s until the NHL made it a requirement. Supposedly, Harold Ballard of Toronto was so against the addition, that he initially refused then he had the names in the same color as the jersey so that it met the requirement but was unnoticeable.

I'm all over a Coburn jersey in orange, white nameplate or otherwise. Don't mind the white, actually.

I am watching the Vancouver-Anaheim game and the COO (or CEO?) of the Canucks said that their third jersey will be worn November 15 against Toronto but refused to comment further.
