OT- Ryan Hollweg suspended already!!

Quote:
The Toronto Maple Leafs will be without forward Ryan Hollweg for the first two games of the NHL regular season because he's been suspended by the league. Hollweg was assessed a boarding major in a pre-season game against St. Louis and because he had two boarding majors last season, there is a provision for an automatic two-game suspension as a result of the accumulation.

Sad. I can't see what is funny about it.
The poor guy just keeps trying too hard, way above his talent level.

Probably won't be his last. He's doing this in preseason?

Really, there has never been a more useless, downright STUPID player than Hollweg.

I used to think he just "tried too hard" or whatver, but now I just think hes a talentless, stupid, dirty player.

I agree, and it's nothing against him personally, but after the crap he pulled in the playoffs against Pittsburgh, turning the momentum of a game, and maybe the series, I'm just so happy that we're rid of him and that he's somebody elses problem. (I also have no love lost for the Leafs)

I agree, he tries too hard. He needs to understand what his level is and play on that level.

Good. I can't stand him. Never liked him. He is a detriment to every team he is on. He is a bone head, an idiot, a.... Okay you get the picture. I still think about that game against Pittsburgh where we had ALL the momentum and how Hollweg ruined that for us. That series could have been entirely different.

Agreed. Not sure why people get such joy from kicking others.

At some point you have to learn to pull away from hitting players from behind, when they're facing the boards and in close proximity to the boards. It's a very dangerous play and you have to be responsible for your actions.

Hollweg seems to have some strange affliction or learning disability.

I've defended Hollweg in the past on some of these type of hits he's thrown. But I'm seeing way too much of this dirty cr*p from him. He doesn't get the benefit of the doubt from me, anymore.

Remember the god awful teams we had in the 80's? Not ONE of those players ever got the abuse fans dish out today. Hell, the worst that ever happend was the fans yelled 'shoot the puck Barry'. Sad indeed.

The way I see it, the guy is a detriment to other players. Eventually he's going to seriously injure someone.

I think it's funny that he already got suspended, but I'm worried about how the suspensions don't seem to keep him from doing it again.

Feel bad for Holly, but it was only imminent that he would get suspended. I hope he does good in Toronto. LONG LIVE BUBBLEGUMGANG!

Get off your high horse. Most Rangers fans have believed this for a long time.

I really thought that he was going to at least wait for real hockey to start.

I did like the energy he brought when he was here, at least in the locker room. On the ice though, I could not stand him and still do this day cannot for the life of me see what Renney loved so much about him.

I just hope he stops hitting people from behind already. It's getting really old.

Fans also weren't paying an arm and a leg to watch the team play live back in the 80's. And players also weren't getting paid the multi millions they are getting paid today back in the 80's. So those are two big factors right there.

With that said, Hollweg doesn't deserve the crap he is getting from the fans. He played his heart out day in and day out. That's all we were asking for for years.

That's bunk. I fail to see why a change in salary increases vitriol. And I fail to see what ticket prices do either. Not many Ranger fans buying Leaf tickets.
