Maybe I'm drinking the koolaid... But I love this guy as our coach for the long term.
Honestly. We're all going to be pissed off most of the time this year because we're not winning, and the team can't keep up.
I said I would be willing to sit through 2-3 **** seasons for a long term successfull core. So I'll stand by that. While right now we don't really have any superstar prospects, I think we have enough to build a nice group of young players.
2 Years from now, we will all be thanking Cliff and Ron for what they are doing right now.

I agree, I get the same feeling. I think we have some good young pieces in right now who should be able to compliment a superstar or two in a few years. Ron Wilson will teach them hard work and two way play, and in a few years we'll draft some really good young players and we'll be ready to compete again.
Any reports on whether Kulemin or Kubina are good to go or not?
This game will get really ugly
6-2 Wings
We have to expect the worst.
I just want to see the youth play a ton and develop well over the season. Like Wilson said... winning means dick all right now. Its all about proper development.
Grabovski will be a treat to watch. Hes really fun. There was ZERO players that were fun to watch last yr. Now we Grabs and Kully... possibly Tlustly as well with top 6 minutes. And Schenn of course if he sticks.
Doesn't matter, RW said he's going to play the young guys a ton this year. He will be given lots of opportunity.
I'm glad that a guy like Kulemin is going to get some unconditional ice time. I think Ron's coming out and saying that he's not concerned about winning was as much for the players' confidence as it was a statement for the media and fans. If we want any of these players to succeed, it's going to help a lot if they have some of their job pressure off. Now that we're out of training camp, I'm eager to see what our players will do with the license they've got from Wilson. We'll get a few mulligans but hopefully we'll start seeing the Mark Is and IIs this team needs to blueprint the future.
If its not about wins and losses and its about the process, then isnt part of the process to develop the younger players?
How is playing Van Ryn part of the process? If they are showcasing him for a trade, then playing him against the best team in the league may be a poor idea.

I would put money on them showcasing players at the early start at least.
If they could potentially get rid of Van Ryn I think they do.
For those of you that live in the States, this one will be on Versus
Well that's good. Does anyone know a better place to find a Leafs feed? I was told to check here for a feed because apparently they're legal now? Maybe I was misinformed. It sucks living in Vegas when you want to watch the Leafs.
man that's a shame that stralman won't be playing in the first game... i hope there isn't something wrong like an injury... if not, i fully expect him to be in the line up on sat...
i'm looking forward to finally seeing schenn play... it was hard to tell with the streaming... i've been impressed with him off the ice, handles himself well with the media and he certainly understands his role... but it's going to be a lot different in a real nhl game

I can't see any team being desperate enough to touch Van Ryn, maybe on recall for half.
I read somewhere that a decision will be made on Kulemin today after practice. I dont know if that practice has happened yet, but over the last few days he's apparently looked game ready.
