I really appreciate the intensity of your passion for a Canadiens player. IMO you would get even more people to judge him objectively if you could communicate that passion at a level that others can relate to.

Screw the marquee or the façade of the building, top billing doesn't any better than having your face plastered directly above a urinal.

So the wee pisser is the face of the FRAQNCHISE above public urinals? Since it's a dubious honour, I'll concede that one to you. Too bad you can't see it for yourself.

Offer, acceptance, meeting of the minds.

Yeah, I think so. He might need to give me a widget or some lint for consideration purposes.

The best add I ever saw was one of those video add things. It was directly above the urinal and had three bar girls who pretended to look down and be very, very impressed.

Actually, it wasn't that great of an add, because I can't remember what it was for. Probably Molson or something.

You'd like it even more if it would ever happen for real.

I have urinated beside Bob Gainey,Murray Wilson, and Yvon Lambert, sort of a hobby as I don't collect autographs. Lambert was the most jovial.

This has nothing to do with S.Kostitsyn , the Serge campaign or anything else.

Good stuff from the Sergei Kostitsyn fan club at Molson..

For the mere mortals who do not speak french, Molson ex has been running an ad campaign in Quebec called: "Le bon Serge" or "The Good Serge". Essentially its all about how to be a good/cool guy and drink Molson.

One of their ads, in the Bell Centre is: A good Serge can also be called Sergei.
They are a bunch of retards trying to be cool, I cant stand those adds..

I don't think so because that would be exploiting their status and we would never stand for that as a society.

Is a Serge like a Bob ? I worked with a guy who, when talking to his freind Robert, ended the conversation with 'Salut mon Bob'. I told him it was a coincidence because I had a Bob too though I never referred to him that possessively.

Are you referencing to "Average Joe" ? Cause I never heard the expression "bon Serge" before Molson used it. I know "bon Jack" though. I think "Jack" may be that "Joe" in English, not Serge.

This is where their campaign fails.

"Un bon Serge" is liek calling someone "un bon Jack" except they didn't want to use Jack because it's too anglicized. They went for a pure Quebecois name instead hoping it would catch on, but to this day people are still confused as to what it really means.

The "bon serge" guys actually had a commercial on CKMF or CKOI this summer explaining what i just said above. It really killed the joke for me when they felt they had to spoon feed teh punch line to the population.

Molson created the expression to kinda be like "joe". But its true that Bon Serge didn't exist before.

And I know the marketting veep for Molson.. its a controversial campaign at Molson but its deeper than them "not wanting to be too anglo with Jack". You're right, that is what the actors said.. but the actors look like idiots.

You'd think that if they sorta wanted to translate "Un bon Jack" into something a bit more Quebec-like. They could have said "Un bon Jacques". People might have understood that.

I just think the whole campaign would be a failure if not for the fact that when you get people talking about your ad, even if it's in jest, you've made an ad that works.

Best urinal ad I've seen was an ad for some car which didn't rely on any imagery besides a picture of the car and a line saying "La puissance est entre vos mains" (tr. "The power is in your hands"). I snickered a little.

The bon serge adds fail on so many levels. I thought Molson would have realised this by now.

No more "La Ville Est Hockey?"

I was on my way to class today and noticed there's some new Canadiens ads up on the street corners.
I didn't get a real good look at it, but i'm pretty sure it said "L'histoire se joue ici." And it had a picture of a current hab (Hamrlik in this case) playing against Sakic in a Nordiques jersey.
Anybody else see these around? And are the "La Ville Est Hockey" ads still up at the Bell Centre?

Just saw one of those ad where Plekanec takes a faceoff against Lemieux. The ad's all black and white while Plekanec is in color. Those ads are great looking by the way. much better than the ¨La ville est hockey¨
