True but it is not like he has been injured all that much. Last year was an exception but i think a team looking for a serviceable experienced D man would take him for draft picks coming our way.

Stafford is part of a good young core. But on the right side we have Pomniville locked up long term. This is a big year for Stafford. Gerbe looks NHL ready and could be a dynamic part of this team as early as this year.

We also currently have Afinogenov and Kotalik, though, they both are due to be UFAs at the end of the year.

I love how one free agent signing makes the entire Dallas team dirty.

I don't mean dirty I mean't a tough guy like Morrow, Ott, Avery and most of your defence.

Sorry, I misinterpreted the ****'s.

What does Ottawa need? Trading a guy like Trevor Daley, or Boucher, would clear up enought cap space that Dallas could afford to keep Brunnstrom and Neal on the roster.

I honestly have no idea what we'd be able to pull in a trade. We have little to no cap room, and I just don't see why you would trade for a 7th d-man. There's so much crap going on in the waiver wire that I see no point. Unless we come out of left field and trade someone with a high salary for a new #1 D-man I just have no idea what we could possibly do.

The LAST thing we need is Colaiacovo, we have serious injuries on the back end all the time. He isnt' going to help, and injury prone defensemen don't help teams win cups.

We have a log-jam at forward, so unless we ship out multiple guys for a clear-cut top 6 forward or trade out some forwards and maybe one D-man for a D-man I can't understand how we could possibly trade anyone. If you ask me we should hold onto what we have, Boucher's value has serious potential for growth. If the guy hadn't been injured he'd be considered a #3 or #2 on a lot of teams and would warrant a first round pick or more considering his great salary.

Boucher is worth so much more to us than other teams, unless those other teams can pretend that Boucher is back in peak form like he was a couple of years ago I can't see him going anywhere. Not to mention he'd be huge in helping us win a cup.

I'll just be surprised if Dallas makes any big moves, but hell, this is Hull and Jackson, they netted us Richards for a 3rd line shutdown center, an up and coming goalie, and a very soft and nearly useless forward unless he is paired up with guys much better than him in Jokinen. The only problem is we don't have the cap space to deal minor and spare parts for something substantial anymore.

Mark Fistric's younger and actually had success in the NHL. I'd actually be pretty pissed if they went with him over Fistric.

Hard to see much of anything when he's on the IR half the time....

I doubt we are going to make a trade for someone who wasn't good enough to make a NHL roster to begin with. I know Detroit is stacked on D and have some good prospects but if a trade happens i think it will be for an already established NHL D man.

You'd think LA would have access to this secret if they were to trade it to Toronto.

Either that or it's a sham LA has been believing in for the last 15 years.

Well it doesn't change the fact that his value is next to nothing. No matter how much "potential" he supposedly has, he's useless until he gets over the constant injuries.

I could see a deal like Lundqvist and Boucher for a young defenseman and a pick coming back to Dallas. The Stars get a cheaper d-man and clear out one of their extra forwards. If the player coming back is cheap enough it could open room on the roster for Neal whom the Stars would like to play but don't have cap space for.

As for the above proposed deal from Buffalo. I love Grossman and know nothing about Tallinder but Stafford will be good and getting a legit young right shot RW in Dallas would be great. I'd miss Lehtinen but man that's intriguing. Of course with Lehtinen's NTC it will never happen but wow that is interesting. If I were Dallas I'd counter offer Robidas instead of Grossman but the proposed deal is a great place to start..

*upon condition of how well TO can adapt the Secret to their organization. Jeff Finger has obviously read the book, now, it is your turn Buds...
You'd think LA would be the last place to look for that secret

Dallas just reaquired Doug Janik for a conditional 7th Round Draft pick.

As for the roster stuff. Doug Janik was picked up on waivers by Chicago, but has since been acquired by the Stars for a conditional seventh round draft pick. Janik had to be placed on waivers because of the roster situation.

Gotta say I'm disappointed. Couldn't care less about losing a 7th, but I was hoping to see a bigger deal.

At least we know now that Zubov will be placed on LTIR, and now James Neal will also make the opening day roster.

So Janik started in Chicago, went to Dallas, back to Chicago and now back to Dallas.

Awesome.

They may keep him as the 7th and send Fistric to the minors, but I don't know the answer to your question.
