Also, I don't agree with Pierre as far as our best defenceman not playing in the NHL.....I won't be too hard on Emelin but I believe that comment should be for McDonagh.

I think he said Emelin was THE best defenseman not in the NHL, as in not only the Habs best.

He seems to be really high on Emelin, as well as Korneev; I remember Pierre talking him up at the World Championships too.

Yup thats what I heard too....
I think Korneev is better than Emelin though... but thats from limited viewing; 10 or so games; of each mostly world championship stuff over the last couple years, but the odd RSL/KHL game too
And I'm sure there are other good D in that league who i haven't bothered to pay attention to.

I heard that he was ONE OF THE BEST defenceman not in the NHL. So true that he didn't talk specifically about the Habs. But what I'm saying is that, for me, he's not the best amongst habs prospects....
But then comparing KHL to College might not be the greatest comparison of all. I was just stunned to see how unsure he looked this year compared to previous years. And again I do remember games in Juniors where he used his tremendous shot, was almost a PP specialist and then you don't see any of that at all during a whole game....Just doesn't seem to me like he's playing with confidence.

They were picking underrated western conference teams....
