Respectively MacInnis.

But for me personally, Johny Vermont, because I am a homer.

I said Hull, but that's mostly because he was Mr. Slapshot when I was a kid.

As for smoking one at a goalie's head just to make him "think about it"... that was a trick Pavel Bure used to do with some success. Often, early in a game, Pavel would send a message, and more often than not, it would make said goalie somewhat squirrelly for the rest of the game.

Didn't Bathgate once put a big slapper right into Plante's face? If I recall correctly Plante wore a mask after that incident.

Anyway , when I think Slapshot I think of Bobby Hull probably because I saw the Legend of Hockey clip of him first.

Voted for Geoffrion, but Al Iafrate and Brett Hull both deserve some mention here. Bobby was all-around dominant, but son Brett's shot -- specifically that sick, sick one-timer -- was a thing of legend.

Andy definitely broke Plante's nose badly with a shot and was thereby involved in the dawn of the regular goalie mask (not counting I think it was Benedict who tried one ages ago but found that he couldn't see well enough). It's unclear to me if it was a slapper or not. If you watch Andy's Legends bio, it sounds kinda like he just whipped a hard wrister at Jacques. At any rate, Bathgate had a hell of a slapshot and was right there with Geoffrion among the first players to truly perfect the technique.

Personally I will always associate the slapshot with MacInnis. Historically though it has to be 'Boom-Boom'...

It's between Boom Boom and McInnis

Pretty close but I pick the former Habs player
