And Torts with his BS comment.....that was funny....didn't take too long...

Also, I don't agree with Pierre as far as our best defenceman not playing in the NHL.....I won't be too hard on Emelin but I believe that comment should be for McDonagh.

I think he said Emelin was THE best defenseman not in the NHL, as in not only the Habs best.

He seems to be really high on Emelin, as well as Korneev; I remember Pierre talking him up at the World Championships too.

Yup thats what I heard too....

I think Korneev is better than Emelin though... but thats from limited viewing; 10 or so games; of each mostly world championship stuff over the last couple years, but the odd RSL/KHL game too

And I'm sure there are other good D in that league who i haven't bothered to pay attention to.

I thought he said Emelin was the best defenceman in Russia.

They better put that preview up on their site now, lol.

I heard that he was ONE OF THE BEST defenceman not in the NHL. So true that he didn't talk specifically about the Habs. But what I'm saying is that, for me, he's not the best amongst habs prospects....

But then comparing KHL to College might not be the greatest comparison of all. I was just stunned to see how unsure he looked this year compared to previous years. And again I do remember games in Juniors where he used his tremendous shot, was almost a PP specialist and then you don't see any of that at all during a whole game....Just doesn't seem to me like he's playing with confidence.

The combined Panel picked us as first in the east.... Washington 2.... Jersey 3....

Would face the bruins in the first round again.

More good news.

TSN GM Poll.

15/28 NHL GMs thinks we will make the Stanley Cup.

I just realized that in the TSN GM poll Carey finished 6th in the question of who is the one player you would pick to build your team around in the next 5 years.

Well we know one of them isn't Bob.... since you couldn't vote for your own player.

They were picking underrated western conference teams....
Duthie to Pierre after he pimped the coyotes, oilers, and a couple others... "are you gonna pick 5 teams and then come here and say 'I told you so' when one of them makes the playoffs?"

Panel picks for the Stanley cup matchup.

Bob: Montreal vs Detroit
Pierre: Philly vs Detroit
Ray Ferrero: Montreal vs Detroit
John Tort: Montreal vs San Jose
Duthie: Washington vs Detroit.

But all 5 pick the western rep as the winner...

You can't be an underdog if you're clearly better than the others.

ty.

I guess the following from their website is a bit misleading:

...In case you missed it, the NHL on TSN Season Preview Show is available on demand at TSN.ca...

I don't think it could have gone any better, lol.
Yeah, it could have. We could have won the cup right there on the preview show.

At the end of the day it means nothing. Last year everybody had the Habs in 11th and they finished 1st.

I don't see any holes on the team...but a couple of injuries and you never know...BG seems to have built depth into the roster though.

My big concerns is having 2 young guys in net, they have the talent but pressure in Montreal is huge.

They put the preview show up on tsn.ca last year but they'll probably wait for it to air on the west coast.

TSN doesn't have split feeds like sportsnet.... The West Coast got it at the same time we did.... 5pm Pacific.
