To be honest though, the guy has to buff up... A LOT before he can safely play in the NHL. He has a tendency of cutting across the slot a lot... and I would hate for him to run into a player like... Pronger or something. Besides that hes got a world full of skills, but not like... open ice dekeing skills. Hands down one of the smartest players seen with the puck for a long time. His decisions on the ice with the puck are always smart and are always cycling moving, and making scoring chances. For him to come next year would be a dream come true for a lot of us.

I'll drink to Cherepanov coming over
Buffness will not save him from open ice hits. I think we all know of a pretty huge player whose 250+ frame did jack for him..

If you're gonna get hit it doesn't matter whether you're 260 or 170 lbs. It's all dependent on the person.

Omsk up 1-0 early, Jagr with a great pass to set up the goal. He also is wearing something that looks a lot like those old Jofa helmets

Haven't seen Cherepanov on the ice yet, but Omsk was killing a penalty when I started watching.

wait, there he is. He line came close to getting some good chances, but had some passes/shots blocked

Thanks. They're playing a team called craptak. What does Chere's name look like on the jersey?

It's in the cyrillic alphabet, so it doesn't look much like "Cherepanov"

I could probably pick it out of a roster, but I don't know it off the top of my head

Cherepanov's #7, his name looks like this: Черепанов

Ivan Baranka's playing for the other team. He's also #7: Баранка

Edit: I am slow.

Cherepanov just picked up an assist.

Carried the puck into the zone, stopped, passed to the guy coming in late, who blasted it past the goalie. MIght have been deflected, but I bet he still gets an assist

It was deflected by Kuryanov in front, but Cherepanov did get the assist.

I really hope Jags talks up the Rangers organization and the NHL to Cherry. I could see the KHL offering him more money than he could get in a rookie contract and he ends up staying overseas.

That's always the worry, but I think it comes down to how bad he wants to play in the NHL. If he really wants to try his hand at the NHL, he'll come play even if he doesn't make as much money at first.
