I honestly never anticipated the day where there would be (mild) panic over the loss of Randy Jones.

Trust me, I'm not crying over here. It sucks for the team, but I really do dislike Jones, and it actually makes me feel better when I know he won't be out there.

My theory for Richie and Jones not practicing.

Richie beat up Randy cuz he sucks. The team loves Mike but John Stevens had to suspend him a day in practice as to make sure Jones doesn't cry.

Jones cried.

Now he needs surgery.

why do I get the feeling we may be trading for Andreas Lilja who some say is on the outs in Detroit.

If you're all looking for someone who Holmgren might be able to snag and look like a genius, I'd look to Ladislav Smid from Edmonton. He seems to be having trouble getting either on the roster or enough of a shot, if not him maybe someone else on their roster. Another guy could be Ole-Kristian Tollefson from Columbus.

That wouldn't really be their style.

But what would those guys command in return?

A Draft pick and/or someone off the Phantoms.

I'm assuming whoever Holmgren wants to get is an NHL player.

Would probably be the best option but how would he do that? Who do we trade? I think Smid would look terrific with Vaananen. He is also tough as nails good, skater zero o-sive game tough..

Edmonton looking to unload him? He is #7 now so there is a chance.

Well this blows big donkey B%^&ls.I am a Jones supporter. But losing your second pairing guy and a 3rd pairing guy before the season starts is just terrible. Not to mention I have to watch the game saturday night with a bunch of GD Rangler fans.

Actually the team with the worst luck in the NHL when it comes to injuries is the Isles,I would rate the flyers a distant second.

Didn't the Kings have the worst season ever in terms of man-games lost a few years back?

Just maybe they discover some type of degenerative disease that will prevent him from playing again. At least for the flyers.

Isn't this the whole reason we brought in guys like Syvret and Ramholt and hung on to Guenin? I can't imagine they'd be any worse than some other team's #7.

The Canes know what they are getting into.

Their "average" age of the team is like 40.

Smid would be a great addition if we can get him for a minor prospect.

Still, Berard looks tempting.
