Unless Detroit hits a roadbump, I highly doubt it. Look at their defense. Too good.

I hope for your sake that Eklund prediction is better this go around then his track record would suggest that it will be.

Despite the favourable outcome in the SCF final, I have to disagree with the rest of it for one reason alone...

step 1
look at the islanders roster
step 2
look at where eklund predicts they finish
step 3
rofl
step 4
realise that eklund might be decent at predicting FA signings but knows nothing about actual hockey.

Edit: I do, however, like how he is sticking to my (and many others) philosophy of the south east being a giant ballsack of terrible teams.

Edit Edit: and the bold pick of the Canucks in the playoffs is a great one. Wow am I agreeing with Eklund???? Guess this isn't my year to be betting on hockey.

There's a couple of stretches, but what would you expect?

For those interested, I have a table comparing many of the various predictions we've seen so far on my blog.

http://yourcanadiens.blogspot.com/20...8-2009_08.html

If anyone has other predictions, let me know and I'll add them. Then I'll compare which holds up the best!

Keep in mind he picked the Devils to finish 14th last year and 9th this year, the man's hockey knowledge is pathetic at best.

Do you have a link to his predictions last year?

Most everyone had the Habs at the bottom of their standings then too, so I'd be interested to see where he had them.

Don't worry, I don't think anyone of us is getting excited from his predictions. Or taking them seriously.

Sorry man, I looked, I started a thread about it in the NHL forum because they were so ridiculous but deleted it and I can't find it.

Exactly. The Habs are one of my favorites to get to the finals but I know and understand hockey unlike Eklund.

If he can maintain a .920 SV% over 60 games or so, he'd definitely be up there, but I think the Vezina will go to a guy like Lundqvist.

OHHHH NOOOO!!!!!
Usually anything that comes out of Eklunds mouth, the exact opposite thing happens...so if he is predicting a cup....there is no way we will win it this season.

Why couldn't Eklund just shut his mouth....everybody knows that anything he says will not ever happen! He's been wrong 1000 times more often than he's been right!!!
