Can someone please explain to me why US Directv subscribers with center ice and versus is not being broadcasted in HD? For BOTH games?! VSHD is showing the LPGA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have comcast but I know for me, the Golf Channel and Versus share a channel and the deal seems to be that whenever a golf event is going on, Versus gets kicked out. I haven't checked to see but I will be pissed if that is the case. But it's not Versus' fault, they have to share and can't afford their own HD channel apparently.

Then I never want to hear Versus does everything it can to market the NHL. LPGA? Are you kidding?

Odds are your guide is wrong, expect the game to be in HD.
On a sidenote, I contacted Versus after seeing my tv guide on Directv and noticed tonight’s games were not in HD but they tell me both games will indeed be in HD.

The obsession so many people have with HDTV is one of the most obnoxious internet message board/discussion forum trends of the past few years.
Well, when you have an HDTV, non-HD feeds do have a lack of quality, and hockey in HD does look fantastic, I love it. I hate having comcast compared to DirecTV though because the amount of HD programming you get with comcast sucks the big one. Unfortunately my roomate would never let DirecTV fly because Comcast owns Philly, and he wouldnt get to watch most Philly sports games since theyre comcast exclusive.

If you've invested the amount of money that I have on satellite equipment, monthly charges, plasma tv's, etc to enjoy my favorite game in HD - which isn't exactly cutting edge anymore - you'd understand my displeasure in seeing the first real night of hockey action showing in SD and not HD.
Do you have HD? Do you watch hockey on a 50" Plasma in SD? Judging by your ignorant comment, you probably have no idea what that's like.

That's just a stupid, stupid thing to say. Do you OWN an HDTV? Have you seen hockey in HD? Hockey is the sport of all the major sport that most benefits from HD. You see so many little things you have never seen before, the sound quality is fantastic, and most importantly it'll make watching for the casual viewer so much easier. Every game on TV should be in HD, period. It's about frikkin time.
Does anyone ever watch hockey on HDNet? I wish all the feeds were that good, because it's the best hockey experience I've ever had while sitting in front of my TV, easily.

Nothing even compares to this. TSN, is ok, close, as is CBC but no way, HDNet is absolutely unreal.
so far in the past few weeks I've heard that Versus, TSN, Roger's Sportsnet, ESPN, and the Lightning are all jokes. Makes you wonder if there is anything serious about hockey at all.

ive seen games in HD. its no big deal. it looks crisp but you dont necessarily "see more" in the actual game.
youre just spewing the HD rhetoric. sure, its nice and great if games are on it and it should be standard for how much money these stupid billion dollar leagues spend on televising games.. but to act like its some Mind Blowng event is retarded

Thanks for making my point for me. I'll certainly watch something in HD over watching it in SD, but it's not some life-altering experience.
The incessant screaming into the microphone on VS has already gotten to me and the puck hasn't been dropped yet. Can't they just shut up, if only for a few seconds at a time?
