You just saw the reason why the Wings WON'T repeat this year. They won one year with that goalie, they won't a second time in a row... No freakin way.

No I won't. I'll have nightmares and then be wide awake. Probably.

Anyways, I suspect I'll need sleep sooner than Christmas with work less than 8 hours away now.

I like what the Leafs are doing so far, keeping things simple and working hard and they got the lucky break. Wonder if they can keep it going through 60 minutes?

Seems to me that it will be tons of hustle every single day. Kudos to them, they just don't seem intimidated......yet. But like I said, it won't be because they'll stop trying that they won't win, it's because they won't have enough talent in the long run.

Good first period by Grabs, likes to be involve out there.

Not sure what Osgood was doing there but props to the Leafs for playing a good period. I still think they will lose this game.

Highly unlikely because I think Detroit will make the proper adjustments... but if they do keep it going until the end then kudos to them...

On RIS, they're live from Crescent St. They're doing the game as well.

Don Cherry is lost!

"remember last year I said they got run out of the building"
speaking of the Habs vs Flyers

then he goes on to say..

"NOT THIS YEAR, now they have Ryan O'Byrne, Frankie Bouillon, Tommy K, and to help Henry and Subban"

he then added Laraque but

The leafs are definitely going to surprise. I'm impressed with Moore tonight. Kulemin had a few good shifts too, and Grabovski as well.

For the first time in a long time, I actually don't totally dislike the leafs. I've always had a soft spot for underdogs.

Who is 5'9".

I don't think he forgot Laraque... He wanted Laraque to be his big finish to his point but then he stumbled on it and it was awkward... but he was always planning to talk about Laraque last, thats the way the highlight package went.

He did also say "in the system" for Henry, Subban and Flynn, he knows they aren't on the NHL roster.

And we'll be really great with Ryan O'BRIEN, Flinn and Henry.

Well Moore will score 2 tomorrow....isn't he like another Habs killer??? And while every ex-hab score against us, I expect a big game from Grabs as well.

I've definately seen more good in Grabs than on all the game he played combined.....nothing new....

they grew cause Laraque is on the team.... Its like we've said all summer, having him on the team will make everyone on our team play a little bigger, and make guys like Chris Neil on other teams play a little smaller.

Its like when you add a number 1 centre... suddenly your number two guy is better than he was last year cause hes not relied upon to do it all himself.

Also O'byrne only played half the season, and was often scratched in the playoffs.

Leafs can have 20 AHLers playing against us and it would still be close.
its just the way it seems to work against them.

i understand that they can now do more because BGL will protect but just say, they wont get pushed around because BGL is there. Dont say they got bigger because of O'byrne, bouillon and TK.

On top of all that, if your going to talk about the Habs being bigger and stuff, how do you not mention Komi?

I agree he should've mentionned Komi...

As far as mentionning guys who've been here a while, you have to remember Cherry does a coast-to-coast show... there are many people watchng who are casual hockey fans and have no idea on the habs. We are still thought of as small, skilled, fast, and soft by casual fans.

Some of those still apply, but he's pointing out a number of players for why the soft and small tags no longer apply.

but we had the exact same guys last year.
if we're not soft and small this year, why does that change?

again, I understand the BGL factor, but it doesnt change the fact that overall, we are the same team of small guys plus 2 new small guys.
