I like the deal, except for the swap part. I don't think it is necessary nor do I see it happening. If you need to add something small to the Ottawa side by removing it, then either add a later round pick instead or another prospect or something. I don't see the pick swap being a deal breaker if BM said no way to that small part...

Also, if the pick swap was included, does that then mean that neither team can trade those picks, as they are "involved" in this deal, thereby locking each team (or at least Ottawa) to holding onto that pick until MIN declines to excercise that option?

What would happen if Ottawa then traded the OTT 1st round pick elsewhere after this deal?

Just remove the swap part and get the deal done. Good proposal.
