I used the currency converter
here to convert the 87 million Kronor to USD, and it works out to $12.17 million, so I'm guessing $12 million makes the most sense, though it could be more.

TSN confirms $3.25 per year.
$13 million over 4 years.
Good deal for Canucks. Better deal for Edler.

Love this signing! Edler is my favourite Canuck and I have high hopes for him. I don't have any doubts that this guy will soon emerge as our main offensive defenseman/PP quarterback.

13 million over 4 years is a great signing, if it's true. Good job Nonis on locking him up.

This is the second Nonis reference?!?
Further confirming how ignorant most hockey fans actually are.

I don't get all the negative if it should be 3 or 5 years. So what if he hit UFA by 2013? That's five years from nobody cares.

"Good Job" and "Nonis" should never be used in the same sentence unless referring to the utter retardosity of a certain Florida team.

98 career NHL games gets you 3.25 per year these days, it's crazy. But that's the way it is. I think this will be a good deal in years 3 and 4. Somewhere between Matt Carle's ripoff and Brent Burns' steal.

It's market price. Kind of weird that it'll take him right to free agency though. I'd probably want to leave it a year short in case he wants out then you can still deal him, or have the contract go a few years into UFA territory.

That's a good signing. He fits right into our salary structure for defensemen. He's right there at that 3.5 million mark but takes a small cut due to his youth and the fact that he hasn't really put up the numbers yet.
I'm pretty happy that Edler's going to be hanging around.

Salo? Pretty obvious he took significantly less then market to stay. Bieksa is a bit higher salary, but he'll be around for the long-term unless traded. Mitchell isn't going anywhere most likely for the rest of his career. Now Edler for another 4 years. Should we have retained Weaver, Fitzpatrick or Miller? No thanks. The only defenseman we've lost via free agency in recent memory (outside of marginal players like Malik and Baumgartner) was Jovo, and he was a cap casualty.

Morrison was given an offer. It was like $1.5M on a one year deal I think.
