No reason to overreact to one game, but there were many things I didn't like. Many of them came from our second line, Begin and Brisebois.

I'd rather see them lose this game than the one tomorrow night.

Just please don't let them lose both.

Hope these lazy penalties aren't going to be a problem this year.

Also I'll give a pass to the offensive guys tonight, the ice was a joke.

On the plus side, Lang has been really good tonight.

Good shot, nice passing.

Markov also was great.

This... outside that one play in OT with Hamrlik, I didn't find him (or his trio) overly impressive.

I thought both Lang and tanguay showed a lot of great hockey sense.. it will take a few games to get the chemistry there... how about kovy and lang in OT... wow... but if you want to talk dissappointment... begin just keeps taking penalties at the wrong time.. no they didnt score but we lost all momentum... and breezeby.. he has a new nickname.. Ketchup... all night he was trying to catchup to the forwards who blew by him!

still believe i would pick chips, lapierre and max pac as my fourth line over begin and dandy... but a few more games like that from those two.. and we wont have to worry about it anymore!

Two stats that stick out

shots on goal

Roman Hamrlik - 5
Thomas Vanek - 9

they are NOT going to win games if they allow players THAT many shots on goal

How was Tanguay so bad, seriously? He made a couple really nice passes out there. His passe to Hamrlik in the third could have easily brought us the win.

I like Tanguay but god he was awful tonight and that was pretty much the only good play he made tonight

Gotta give credit to the Sabres. They played well.

Ice was freaking awful. The puck was bouncing constantly.

That was probably his only good play. And he made a nice pass to Markov on the PP.

Otherwise he was downright awful in all three zones. By far our worst player tonight IMO.

But hey...it's one game on a new team in a new system...let's not waive him just yet

Swap Tanguay and Begin, and you are spot on.
